I was supposed to do W1D2 today. Got about a quarter in and it started raining. I don't mind being in then rain, but I had J with me and didn't want him in it longer than needed. So I only got about halfway though. I will repeat Friday.

I wish it was raining! It's 87 out. I was drenched.
Ugh, I hate running in the heat! We're having some out of place fall weather right now. Very pleasant, apart from the rain.
I did week 3 today. The program I'm using doesn't distinguish days. It went really well! I had my best 1K and best 1 mile (14:06, so don't be too impressed!) I even added an additional 3 minute run on the end and felt great. I started 3 weeks ago, and it's amazing how much of a difference I can see/feel already! I got confused and actually used the week 3 podcast for my very first run. I about died & had to walk some of it...and today I added another run segment!
Can I play too? I just finished week 4, and w4d3 was the first time I easily crossed 2 miles! So I am super slow. Like others have said, I am pretty overweight and I run with DS, so I have to push him in the stroller as well. I am going to the park tomorrow with a friend of mine that runs, there is a 3 mile trail there. We'll see how that goes. Aaah, peer pressure!
Great job you guys! I haven't started yet. By the time I have gotten home after work the past few days it has been dark out and I don't have any safety gear for walking/running in the dark so I need to get some. I will start this weekend. It's super dark when I wake up in the morning too, so I really need a safety vest or lights or something!
I need to restart this. I got up to week 7 or 8 back in June, but then with our basement remodel we put the treadmill in storage, and it is harder for me to get outside to run because I usually run during naptime.

I cannot find a time to do this. The last two nights I've wanted to after DD had gone to bed, but H hasn't gotten home till late and then I'm too tired. I'm guessing I have to do the morning, like 5:30, since I need to be in the shower by 6:10.
Any tips on how to get motivated to exercise in the morning?
My next scheduled run is the week 5, 20 mins one. The last 2 times I've done c25k it's been fine but it's been 2 weeks since I last got out to run because of a stomach bug making rounds in my house, so I'm really not sure about it. Might redo the previous run.
Good job everyone! I need to restart the c25k again. I got up to week 8 this spring but this summer I have lost all motivation because of house selling/moving stress. Maybe I will start back this week and join the check ins.

Just lurking here and encouraging. I love C25K. I started with it many years ago.
Set your alarm and lay your workout clothes out so they are staring you straight in your face when you get up. For me this is the bathroom since I go pee first thing in the morning.

I just started this week and then saw this thread! I did it once about a year ago, but then stopped running. Now I am on w1d2. I am going to go do run 3 on Saturday! I am excited to do it again with my FitBit too!
I was a runner before I got pregnant but haven't worked out much since. I did c25k a long time ago when I first got into running.
You guys motivated me to give it a try again. I did W1D1 tonight and really enjoyed it. Hopefully I can stick with it. Oh, and I also love the app. Last time I did it by printing out the program. I like having the app tell me what to do.

Did week 5 day 3 today, the 20 min run. It wasn't my fastest pace ever, but I didn't stop to walk at all! Woohoo!
I've been doing yoga on the off days (I try and run mwf and do yoga tues and thurs, although that doesn't always happen) and I take DS on a 1+ mile walk. I tried to run every day, but my shins and knees couldn't take it.
Is anyone planning on doing the 10k one next? I'm going to start it in January.

There's a big 10k in my hometown that's always been on my bucket list, it's in late March/early April every year. So it's my goal to run that next year. After that I may go back to 5k's, we'll see. Right now I enjoy getting out and DS enjoys riding in the stroller, so it works out well :-)
I did Week 4, day 1 today. It wasn't pretty, but I finished! I did have to take one 15 second break. Next time will be better! On my next run, I should break 30 miles of run/walking since I started training...and possibly move to the next level runner according to Nike+ app.
Question for others...Is your whole week the same, or is there a difference between what you run each day?

In the beginning it's the same every day, then it changes. I'm doing week 6 next week: Day 1: walk 5, run 5, walk 3, run 8, walk 3, run 5, walk 5 Day 2: walk 5, run 10, walk 3, run 10, walk 5 Day 3: walk 5, run 22, walk 5

Interesting. I don't think my plan changes. I'll have to check. I think I'd prefer it to change daily when I get further along. Is your plan just an mp3/podcast or is it an app? I like mine because it's just a "podcast" so I can still use my Nike+ app.
I did it!! I had to wear two sports bras, but I did it!
Great job!
If you're looking for a new sports bra, check out the C9 ones at Target. The maximum support ones are great & even come in band/cup sizes instead of S/M/L. The only problem is that they're tough to get off when they're sweaty. I swear I'm going to pull my arm out of the socket one of these days! But it's worth it since I don't even realize I HAVE boobs during my run!

I use the C25K app, I know you can use runtracker and Pandora with it.

I did w1d3 outside this morning. My app I was using didn't tell me when to stop my run, so I ran through the walk and the second run interval. I was like holy crap! This is the longest minute ever! I was pretty much dead for the rest of it... Back to the teed mill on Monday! It is safe and won't screw with me! Oh and also all other people were running faster than me!!
Week 2 Day 1 down in the middle of the day. I was hot but it's done. I'm using the C25k App and playing iTunes for music but I'd love to see my pace/distance. Will mapmyrun do that?

I don't know about mapmyrun, but I love Nike+. It gives me pace (will even do a VoiceOver at a set time or distance) and keeps a running total of my miles since I started running. It also has a social component, which I find very motivating, as my brother and sister are both doing it. I can see their miles and cheer them on, too. I don't, however, like their 5K plan. It goes more on distance than time. This week, I was supposed to walk/run 5.5 miles one of the days...at my pace, that would take FOREVER! Plus 3 of the miles were running. That's too much, too soon for me. But using the app to track my miles/pace with the Runningintoshape podcast has been a good combo for me.

That's actually what I use, it works really great. I start Pandora and then MapMyRun and then C25K.
