I biked to and from work for the first time today. I'm ridiculously excited about it. It's so nice to combine commuting with exercising and I felt energized and refreshed after my rides. I plan on commuting by bike every day barring inclement weather.
One of my coworkers was informed today that the organization has been over-Paying her for the last year, and she owes them $2,000.
Her h is in grad school. That's big money to them, and a drop in the bucket for the organization. What. The. Fuck.
Does she have any options?
We are state funded, so it may differ from other places... I deal with overpays on occasion. In 98% of our cases, the employee will have to pay it back. They offer payment plans and they really work with the employee to make sure it isn't too much of a hardship (I think one guy pays like $50 a month? It will take years for him to pay it off). On the rare occasion, we eat it because either (1) someone really messed up and the employee honestly had no clue they were overpaid or (2) it would be too much work to get the employee to pay (we deal with a lot of international people who move back to their home country). Ultimately, we have the right to send the employee to collections and/or garnish their wages if they do not cooperate.
I've discovered an advantage to a job where I'm out of the office a lot -- I can repeat outfits and nobody knows. I'm wearing the same outfit I wore yesterday!
OMG I am planning to do the same thing tomorrow! I wore the outfit today from 10-3, so I feel fine wearing it tomorrow. I did text one of my employees to make sure she wasn't going to the other job site tomorrow, cause she saw me today.

Ugh. This happened to H and all of the salaried employees at his company. Well, first they said they underpaid so they gave him a bunch of money, then a few months later said they hadn't underpaid and demanded the money back (what a mess). They all had to pay it back but could do it in one payment or a payment plan. Not paying it back wasn't an option, unfortunately.
I am over the trend of adding sea salt everything sweet. I do not want my chocolate granola bar or my caramel popcorn to taste like a salt lick.
"It enhances the flavor" my ass
Yeah, me too. I like the concept, but very rarely is the ration Of salty and sweet balanced. It's normally too sweet, except that Krispy Krem.e salted caramel doughnut I had today. Yum.
