I pretty much just put the baby in zippered sleepers, but today a little girl at story time asked me why the baby was in her pajamas. Should I be putting her in real clothes? Do onesies and pants count?
Pretty much right away, with pajamas being worn more often at home. In fact, I don't think he ever wore pjs out. His "real" clothes were all soft cotton so I didn't worry about it infringing on comfort.

Around the time I got a comment like that one :-)
I'd say I have zero issues taking out a baby 3 months and under in what are clearly pajamas. After that I am more likely to put on an outfit, but the outfits are still soft cotton onesies and stuff.
I rarely have him in sleepers. he's usually in a onesie and pants at home, in a romper when we have somewhere to go. even at night, I usually have him in a onesie and swaddle.
We have gotten so many clothes gifted that I feel bad if she doesn't wear them all. I usually put on an outfit a day. I save her summery dresses for trips out of the house and leave her in rompers and onesie/pants sets for the house.
A couple days? We had so many sweet clothes from gifts, it was fun! If I hadn't received them, I wouldn't have bothered for a bit bc I'm excessively frugal.

I had a winter baby, so he wore sleep and plays almost constantly until he started day care at 3 months. Then it was early summer, and he moved on to onesies and pants.
I hated dressing my newborn and only changed his PJs every other day. Luckily he was not a spitter or intense pooper.

If its winter, I only stop doing sleepers when my kids start standing/walking. I hate having separate shirts and pants that ride up when its cold. Plus, who has time for baby socks? I don't consider them pajamas.
I'm team #OnesieForLyfe, but I consider them shirts and wouldn't take my kid out in one without something on the bottom.
Early. He wore a lot of onesies or kimono shirts with pants because I got so many as gifts.
But all I have for #2 are sleep and plays with zippers until size 3-6 months. Poor second child. I'll probably reuse the kimono shirts but I am over onesies until they are a little more mobile.

She's 10 weeks. We usually dress her in an outfit if we're going out but I didn't even think of it this morning. I don't really think of them as pajamas, but LOL at being called out by a 4 year old.
I started after newborn sizes (all I had in NB was sleepers), so maybe three weeks. Since then he has never worn sleepers---mainly because I looooove me some baby clothes and dressing him like an old man is kind of a hobby of mine.
DD is 5 months and still in sleepers. I plan to use them awhile longer, probably through winter. Why go through all the trouble of 3 separate pieces (onesie, pants, and socks) when one will do?

Around 3 months when she started daycare, but I used them as back up outfits at day care through about seven months. It was easier to send one thing and not worry about matching, etc. Then it was summer and too hot for them. If we were going to be home all day, we probably used them until about then, too.
DD2 is a summer baby, so we did onesies at home, but started real clothes when she started daycare this week. She is 3 months.

I don't think I've ever taken her out in pajamas. Early on, sleep n plays were too hot here, anyhow, so she didn't wear those until maybe 6 months. Rompers or those dresses with the built-in snap bottoms were her go-to until fairly recently - and she still wears them a lot. I also think they're waaaay easier than pulling off pants or the bottom half of the sleepers for a diaper check/change.

My baby has been living in onesies and pantless around the house. I have a million cute "outfits" that I was gifted and he wears those when we go places.
He wore sleepers at bedtime, but we discontinued that when we started swaddling him.
DS wore sleep and plays 24/7 for the first few weeks. When he was finally big enough to wear the rompers and other stuff he received as gifts, I starting dressing him in them during the day.
We've had him in sleepers mostly but have done onesies with pants or rompers. He's just starting to fit properly in his 0-3 clothes so I'll put him in actual clothes more frequently.
DD was a summer baby, so she wore mostly rompers and dresses with attached diaper covers for the first few months. Sleep & plays were mainly for at-home wear.

I was coming in to say around 15 months, when he stopped wearing rompers and onesies/pants, but as I see that is the definition of "real clothes" here, I guess I will say at birth. He was too long for footed sleepers so we never wore them.
