I set up a Fartlek speed workout day with my MRTT group, and had a lot of fun! There were just 3 of us, but it was cool. One lady is sooooo fast, so it was great to chase her. I'm going to make Fartlek Fridays a thing.
I had only one workout sent to my watch, so that's what we did, but I want to change it up. Any ideas?
5min warm up (maybe a mile is better? I already run a mile to the start location, but the other folks are cold) 400m sprint 200m easy run Repeat however many times - I had 6 programmed into my watch 5min cool down
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.

Sounds fun! My group does a mile warm up for track/speed workouts and even that is not enough for me. I do a warm up before the warm up. I think if you let people know what the workout is they can decide for themselves if they need to put in a longer warm up before meeting up.

That's a good idea, cinco! I'm going to map out the best place to do the 400/200s, so I can map out the distance from our start to there, or suggest how to add more.

When we go on vacation, we finally get to meet our godson (he just turned 1). I can't wait! Mom & dad are both Geologists, and it's a bit crazy how excited I am for this shirt that I just designed & ordered for him.

It is clearly the marathon training talking, but I'd want at least a mile (or maybe 10 min) warm up and cool down. And dare I say it, more intervals..... yes, that was the marathon training talking.

Had my baby this morning... A girl!!! We were shocked. My first was 9 lbs but belly was much smaller this time, gained less weight and trained throughout the whole pregnancy...
Yeah 10 lbs 2 oz. Guess the repeat c section was the right option... But had some funny moments in operating room where apparently being muscular was causing the OR team some trouble. My OB, a CrossFit supporter, just laughed at them.

Congrats! Could they not stitch you back because your abdominals seized up? That's what happened to me!

Lol! I'm trying to work us up to it. I mapped out a nice 1.5 mile warm up. We did 5 today, just because we ran short on time. How many would you do?

I decided to go back to kickboxing which is the place where I gained my fitness self-confidence. Now I remember why I liked it so much, and I'm hoping it will continue to fuel the fitness fire. It's hard because I don't have the lungs I once did, and since my boobs are still giant nursing boobs they get in the damn way and my punches are all kind of wide and killing my traps. It's funny, prior to pregnancy I was all leg power. Now my upper body power outpaces my legs, kicking is hard without much of a core to speak of.
wambam, your new avatar is confusing me. I do not like it. But I'm sure I'll adjust. Oh, also, did I tell you that I can relate on the shoulder/back issues or just mean to tell you? Anyway, I have exercises to get the area in between my shoulder blades moving instead of trying to do everything with my upper traps. Sounds like basically what you've got going on but to a lesser degree, and it's hard!
I broke 400W on a climb in spin class! It was only for like a second, but I seriously can't believe it, lol. Overall I managed 220W after a 900 yard swim (busy pool so it was way shorter than I wanted).
I was so busy at work today, I just got on. That sucks. I'm here until 8:00. That sucks too. I have 17 miles tomorrow and that sucks. I just want to drink and rest.

I'd probably start with a longer warm-up and cool-down and work my way up to 5-6 miles total. My math says with only a .5 mile warm-up and cool-down you are at 3.25 miles total. I know time is an issue and not everyone is doing a million miles, but if you could get in a mile warm-up and cool-down and 8 total intervals that would get you to 5 miles. Then if you mixed it up you could go 4 800's or a ladder about the same amount of time.

It is soooooo hard! I think the posture shirt is what really helped though.
