Headed to Tampa this afternoon. I have meetings there on Monday and Wednesday so I decided to go early and spend the weekend with my sister. She just bought a house so she's all packed up so no place for me to sleep. So...we decided to use points and book a fancy hotel. It'll be like a little vacay! Tonight we plan to just have a nice dinner and gossip. Tomorrow we're going to a BBQ at her friends' house. Sunday we're going to spend the day at the beach. Now to just get my work done before I head out...

Good luck, chalupa! Please let me know how it goes!
Tonight is jam packed. We have bday dinner with P's parents. Then we got invited to a dual birthday party for friends and a going away party for a girl at the barn who is off to college.
Tomorrow I was supposed to ride, but Levi got beat up pretty bad in the pasture. It looks like he got bit and kicked by another horse (with shoes). So, riding lesson may be off. Yesterday was truly a shitastic day. Anyway, I have a bachelorette party tomorrow and maybe going out for a friend's birthday.
Thanks. I'm sure he will be unhappy as he is confined to his stall for at least the next few days.
However, lucky him, he gets to be a ladies' man and will now be in a pasture full of mares. Lol.
Really? Mares are typically the roughest in the field. I hope Levi keeps a low profile there.
He is low man on the totem pole, but he is also an instigator. There are 2 bullies in the pasture he is leaving. The mares are pretty chill, though. And, the good news is, if the mares don't work out, there is still the pony pasture. Lol.

This makes me so glad we turn out in pairs. If someone gets kicked, we know exactly who did it!
Right? They go out all day so going out in pairs isn't feasible.
Between tonight and tomorrow I need to: bake DD's birthday cake, shop for soccer cleats for DS, get DS a hair cut, get a baby shower gift, finish the school shopping, wrap DD's gift, make sure I have any my crap together for the baby shower, find DD's birth certificate so she can get her nose pierced on Sunday, boot camp, and probably a zillion other things!
Sunday I'm heading across state lines to go to my BFF's sister's baby shower, get the kid's nose pierced and then home to rest

For real? You're her parent and your in person consent isn't enough??
Tonight I'm going to see Trainwreck with some friends.Tomorrow driving to S.C to see my In laws and sunday is a rest day.
In crap news I've somehow hurt my back and I'm worried about it. I hope it gets better. It's been a week. I've not done any yoga or anything strenuous and it still hurts.

Hooray for Friday!! This weekend I'm planning to get older.
I have to go into work for at least a little while today, but I'm leaving by 2:30 because I have a meeting with someone from my university at 3 to talk about my student experience, advice I have for current students, etc. I think they're trying to do more with alumni engagement and I'm glad to see that. No idea how I was selected but it should be good.
Nothing else on the schedule for today. I may take myself out tonight.
Tomorrow my parents are coming down and taking me shopping for an outfit and a pair of shoes (that's what they want to get me) and then they'll be coming to dinner with me and don't of my friends and neighbors. Then hopefully I'll head to one of my favorite bars for drinks afterwards.
Sunday is my actual birthday and I've invited people to brunch. That's the only plan I have all day. I'm sure I'll end up doing more things, but I don't want to over-schedule the day and end up stressed. Wish I could go horseback riding but I would've needed to plan that in advance, so another time.

I have nothing tonight. Tomorrow I have a bridal shower. I might go for a drive on sunday, although no definite plans have been made.
Ds came home from his dad's yesterday with his hair spiked up into a faux hawk. When I asked him who did his hair, he replied "my other mom." I almost cried.

I have to bring my id, her b/c and she needs her id (photo id of some sort) in order for them to do it. Laws man, laws!

omg you poor thing
did you say anything to him?
I was so shocked the only thing I could say was "who?" He clarified and said "she's almost my step mom." So I asked him how he felt about that and he said "great!" That's about all the conversation I could handle on that subject right then.
On one hand, I'm glad he has adjusted so well, and that xh has somehow managed to find a gf who really is good to ds. But it felt like I'd gotten kicked in the stomach.

Do you know what he calls her? I'm sorry. That must have been so hard to hear on several levels.

gault, my friend is live broadcasting from the fair today. It looks so fun!
starrieskies, I am sorry he's calling her that. I haven't had to deal with that yet (the kids just call his GF by her first name), but it will hit me hard too

He usually just calls her by her first name. I don't think he calls her that on a regular basis. I think it stems from us telling him that when I'm not around, he needs to listen to her just like he would me... I can logically see why he may have done it and I understand. I just don't like it.
