I have something I'm judging that I need to get out.
Every year, DH and I (no kids) spend X-Mas with my in-laws along with DH's brother (my BIL), his wife, and their two kids (1 and 4). Yesterday, I found out that my BIL and his wife are thinking about dropping their kids off with the wife's parents in another province and themselves spending Christmas in Vegas.
Am I crazy to think that it's weird to not spend Christmas with your own infant and preschooled aged children?
I'm thinking about faking sick so I can go home and study for Sunday's exam. It's our busiest time of the month but I think with a little bit of overtime on Monday, we will be able to finish on time.
Someone decide for me. Should I go home or should I stay at work and study? I would get twice as much studying done at home. I have more than enough PTO to use.
I realized last night that my absolute least favorite broadcaster will be calling a college football game I want to watch this weekend. @rennido, Jesse Palmer! Fucking Jesse Palmer and his size smedium (small/medium) suits. Ugh he is so grating on my ears!
The house next to mine is for rent. Would it be weird to call the number listed on the sign and ask what the rent is being listed as?
I'd try to find the rent online before calling. But, if that's not available, not weird to call. I imagine they'll be getting lots of phone calls given the fact that they're advertising.

Go study. I want you to pass that damn test. Sending you passing vibes!

I'm kind of annoyed with H for using his FF miles for a trip back home. Initially, he said he was going to drive, but then changed his mind. The tickets were expensive so I was annoyed with that, too lol. Still, I hate using miles for domestic travel, especially when we're low on miles, like we are now. I also would have never driven up there if I was him, so I guess I just wanted him to suffer for the sake of keeping the money and the miles.

@irene adler, no. I emailed my neighbor I don't know who is selling FSBO and asked how it was going. You can even do it anonymously, just do it.
The teachers where I live are likely going to go on strike and it irritates me. I am totally in favor of teachers unions, my father was the president of the union for a number of years while I was growing up. I don't agree with striking, there are other ways to get your point across without impacting the children. Some of the things that I remember them doing when they went a year without a contract were:
Picketing Only working during school hours. The teachers would stand in the parking lot until the exact minute they were supposed to be in there and they left when the bell rang, no after school specials, no before or after school help, etc. Sick outs- a certain number of teachers would call in sick on a certain day.
It's weird to go straight to striking, monsterz. Generally here you will see a work-to-rule period like you described, and striking happens after many failed negotiations.
I wish DH would have an excuse to work-to-rule. It would be awesome if he only worked 8:30 - 3:30.

I'm so sick and tired of CNN and other channels saying Donald Trump is SO far ahead in the polls. I think it's fake and inflated. Perhaps this is because I refuse to believe there are that many people that think having him as president is a good idea.

So many people on my FB are obsessed with him and think he's the greatest thing ever. I'd say that 80% of the people that post about politics are rooting for him. Sad face.
I'm stupidly excited about the pasta flight/sampler offered by the restaurant I'm going to tomorrow.
oooh, how many pasta are included and what types?
I just watched an episode of Masterchef last night that had the contestants make egg yolk filled ravioli. Now, I'm craving ravioli something fierce.
It's not a menu item (the restaurant doesn't even have a website) ... I only found out about it recently while browsing through Yelp photos. It looks like it's one of those things the waiter suggests if you're hemming and hawing about which pasta dish to order. It looks like you pick either angel hair or linguine, and then three sauces.
The menus posted online by diners say that the restaurant has clam sauce (which I've had before and it was great), anchovies, mushrooms, marinara, oil and garlic, and ricotta blush sauce.
And we're going to see Jim Gaffigan afterward. Please pray that I don't laugh so hard that I throw up my delicious dinner.

Yeah their contract expires at the end of the month and they have been negotiating since May. If they don't have a tentative agreement by the 3rd they will strike which means a delay to the start of school.
PSA to my fellow pumpkin spice lovers: Dunkin Dinuts released it early!!! Ahhhh!!!
Is this the coffee only or includes the donut/munchkins, too?
I think it is only the coffee. I asked if they had anything pumpkin spice and she said "yes we have coffee". It may be worth calling your local DD to ask about. I think some stores bend the rules because nothing pumpkin spice is supposed to be out until Sept 1.

That sounds awesome!
I LOVE Jim Gaffigan. I was just thinking about his Subway bit this morning and found myself laughing outloud while walking down the street alone.

I am a frequent flyer nazi and have a lot of rules for when we can and can't use them.
Also, H tried to use it for a trip home to see his parents and I said no because in my head miles should only be used for fun things. LOL
