My mother keeps calling me mid-workday asking if I'm 'actually in meetings and working or just working in my classroom'. It's really pissing me off. I'm at work. I'm working. Could I answer the phone this week? Yeah, but then I'm not getting stuff done and I'll have to do it at home. Quit calling me! My confession is that I've stopped answering and since most of her messages say it's 'not a big deal and she's just killing time' I'm probably not calling back after work. Frankly, I don't need to have a 20 minute daily check in with my mother. I want to go get my kids and then we have things we need/want to do.

My mil will not leave a message. She will just call every 15 minutes until you pick up. Speaking of which, I took the kids to a different grocery store today because I'm already seeing mil later (she works at the other main grocery store), and twice in one day is too much.
Oh my word. The kids' door got stuck closed (it doesn't lock...but it was definitely jammed). My attempts to push it open did not work. I passed a screwdriver under the door so they could try to unscrew the knob (didn't work).
So I headed outside, got them to work together to move the footstool over, unlock an open the window. When I couldn't get the screen out after multiple attempts, I had to slash it with scissors, jump up and into their window. Then, unscrew the knob and discovered a screw sticking out of the place where the knob connects. Like seriously?? Unscrew all that and....45 minutes later....they were free.
Should be noted: the kids were laughing the whole time, totally not upset they were locked in their room.

My weak confession:
Reese has been losing weight this summer---so first the first time EVER to avoid a feeding tube we have been letting her eat whatever the hell she wants. She is starting to eat again, but now having massive tantrums that she can't eat ONLY X food....she decides that every day she has a new favorite food and that is ONLY the food she will eat all day.
Plus we have been allowing snacking in the family room, her bedroom, in front of the TV, etc anywhere she will eat.
But we are paying for it in meltdown mode when I put my foot down. Since DH is working all day.
So I am seriously in food hell.
I can't wait for her to start Pre-K on Wednesday--it hopefully will make things so much easier.
Her food of the day is Nutrigrain bars. (incase inquiring minds want to know)

We would make horrible criminals.
Less than a month until we are out.of.here.
LOL. In that situation I'd probably end up thinking, well, that killed 45 minutes. Now what should we do?

I know you didn't ask for advice, but what about making it a game? Make (or borrow from a game) a spinners and have her pick 5 foods for the day. Whatever it lands on she gets?

DH and I got into a huge fight last night and we were screaming at each other and I lost my temper and started throwing stuff across the room. DD (who is only 14 months) got really upset and started crying. I feel like the world's worst mom
My lame confession is that I've watched Disney's Descendants more times than I can count and I still find it entertaining. We even listen to the music in the car.

My kids are fighting over the TV again so I put on Good Eats. It's an episode about cocktails so we are all learning about how to make a Bloody Mary. They are mostly playing Legos though. I guess I will have to make my own drinks lol.

We went through the same thing for less serious reasons. My dd started seizure meds and they took what little appetite she had. She's always been petite and started dropping weight so we got into the free for all of eating whatever/wherever. Preschool really did help us get back into the routine of eating at the table/eating more than one thing.
