Good aesthetic Would completely block light -- could set curtains slightly wider than window
Probably not enough support. -The windows completely adjoin so there is no space in the middle for anchors.
Traditional rod w/ Ceiling mount and swivel socket
Stylish/best aesthetic Would completely block light Could provide support to rod throughout
I could fuck up our ceiling.
Concerned about weight support (esp since the one window is like 9 feet wide).
I don't want the rod to fall on us in our sleep and give us brain injuries.
Are there other options I'm not considering? I really wish there were L-shaped tension rods (anyone find this??) or tension rod swivel sockets. Or even just square shaped tension rods so I could but the smaller rod flush against the longer one.
Traditional rod w/ Ceiling mount and swivel socket. If you do enough mounts, you won't have to worry about it crashing down on you while you sleep. I would probably use 4-6 mounts total. I can't tell what the window frame is made out of, but I think the ceiling would be easier to repair than the frame would be.
FYI: If you really want to be frugal/have more selection on curtains, you can turn any curtains into blackout curtains. Fabric stores sell blackout liner fabric that you can sew or even iron onto curtains using Heat N Bond. That's what we did for our bedroom since all the cheap blackout curtains were NMS.
The first thought I had was blackout cellular shades. They don't come as a corner as a general rule but you would measure one from wall to wall and the second wall the adjoining the first shade. There would be a very slight gap at the joint, but with the wide framework at the corner, that would block the light. Or drapes at the corners and ends as in the picture to block out any light and provide additional light blocking.
New York can be bright! With blinds, plus an eye mask, plus my security blanket wrapped around my head, it is still bright enough that I often have trouble sleeping. There are lights that are on 24 hours that shine into our bedroom window.
My stupid husband is anti-blackout shade and anti spending money on window treatments, though, so I just don't sleep well.
Sleep is no joke. I think you get to override his vote!

Google 3M hooks + curtain rods. They make the hooks in a lot of different finishes, you could apply it right to the window trim to get around there not being a place to anchor traditional rods.
