Now that is about to be 2(!!!), we are talking about activities we may want to sign him up for. I've been wanting to do swimming lessons, but I can never get in on time, so they are always sold out.

I just signed DS up for a toddler gymnastic class with with the county Rec center. It got good reviews and I wanted to get him into something physical. I'd love for hm to do soccer but haven't found anything that young here.
We are starting swimming lessons next month. It's an 18m to 3y class so she'll be one of the youngest but I hope it goes ok. They actually endeavor to teach them to kick and float and eventually swim independently. I hope she likes it, or that it at least wears her out!
DD has been doing a baby/toddler "gymnastics"/motor skill class through the park and rec since she was 6 months old. She loves it. we enjoy it too because it is fun and we alternate taking her every Saturday morning, so one of gets to go to the super fun class while the other gets a glorious hour alone at home.
I tried swim lessons last summer, but it was not a great class. I want to try again sometime..
DD is only 19 months. I started her at a mommy and my gymnastics class at 18 months. I highly recommend it. I think it's a good option for young kids.
We're not doing dance until at least 3, maybe 4.
And honestly I don't think I'll start team sports until 5-ish. That's when my niece started t-Ball and I think it's clicking well at her age. ETA maybe 4. I don't really know.
I found a mommy and me dance class, but it meets Wed and Thurs mornings and that won't work with our schedules.
I'm putting her in part-time daycare 3 days/week. I'm hoping she's ready for the socialization and I want her to be doing messy art stuff somewhere I don't have to clean up.
I'm not thinking about swimming until she's a little older and PT.
DD2 is currently signed up for preschool two mornings a week, story time, and music. I looked into swim for the fall but the times didn't work, and I didn't want to get too crazy because the other kid has stuff too.

We have been doing a music/dance class since DD was 10 month. Now that she is older, she is better at following along with the activities, but she has always enjoyed hearing the songs and the class tires her out. We like it and it's low stress. We did more of a gymnastics class this summer. The classes and activities were similar, but there was less music and better equipment. She liked that, too.
If she seems interested, we may start "real" dance when she turns two. It is the same teacher that she has now, but a little more aimed at introducing skills. The studio is pretty hardcore, which doesn't interest us, but the teacher is great. If she doesn't like it, we may go back to the gymnastics place.
We like having a structured activity in place for weekend mornings. Our house is small and winters are cold, so this gives her a place to burn some energy. It's also challenging DD to become more comfortable with new people-- she is in a big day care, but she knows and is comfortable with the teachers and kids there.

DD2 does swim lessons by herself and Little gym which is parent/child. She starts ballet in November (no recital though because where DD1 goes doesn't start until 3 so this new place is a no recital place).
We are doing swimming through Oct, probably including Nov and then will probably switch back to little gym. I kind of want to find a baby ballerinas thing after seeing @bunnybean 's pictures too though. I'm scared of dance places, they all seem so... Scary.
Little Gym is interesting with the new owners. You might want to stick to swimming lol
We been doing swimming for a while. It's the only class around here for this age group not offered during work hours which is frustrating. I would love to do gymnastics but can't find anything not during the week morning hours
Poor second child here is doing nothing. I feel kinda bad now as I read these....
Our first child is 2 and signed up for nothing. I want to do soccer or gymnastics but DH wants to wait until he's older before we commit to any regularly scheduled activities. Lame.
We've done a few 6-8 week swim sessions at the Y. We didn't do this past session because the summer was busy. I plan to start it again this fall or winter to get some energy out during crappy weather.
Daycare offers a mini soccer program for 2+. I'll sign up DS for a session once he's 2. It's nice because it's during daycare hours, on site, so I don't have to do any coordinating, driving or give up weekends.
Lol, my 9/13 baby is my third. So he tags along mostly. Swimming here doesn't really start till three. Up until that point, it's more singing and splashing with the parents. I have thought about maybe putting him in private lessons this winter to get some actual instruction so he's more ready to go next summer.
Other than that, he's too young for soccer. I'll have two mornings a week with the older two in school/preschool so I'm looking forward to taking him to storytime at the library just for him.

I will be signing DD up for swim lessons this fall, unless DH can finally add this to his schedule to teach her himself (he used to be a baby/kid swim instructor).
We haven't thought about anything else yet. Dance is the one we will wait as long as possible to have her do (if ever). Dance here is...intense. And serious $$$.
Nothing yet. We will probably do swimming lessons next spring. Hmmm maybe toddler gymnastics would help with stairs ... or just encourage him to tumble off furniture more
Other than that we'll sign him up for soccer next fall when he is 3. Swim lessons and soccer will probably be it until he's old enough to go golfing with H.
We tried gymnastics a few times, I think he doesn't have the focus yet, even for the toddler classes. Thank God for free trial classes! He'd rather just run around. I'll probably try again in the spring.
We've done swimming, and will do that again this fall.
Music Together has been a big hit - music and moving, and it's fun for me, too.
we are doing gymnastics for the late fall/early winter session. L is going to have so much fun being able to climb and bounce and jump as much as she wants instead of scaling my walls lol we are waiting for swim lessons until the spring.
Following. Has anyone had any experience with Kindermusik? I just signed up for a trial class in a couple weeks. My LO just turned 19 months and has terrible stranger anxiety, but she loves music and singing so I'm hoping for the best.

We did gymnastics starting at 16 months, he LOVES it. I tried to get him in swim but every after work scheduled class would fill up before i could sign up.

We've been doing it since DS was six months, so about a year now. I really like it, our teacher is great. DS loves it too. The right teacher makes it even better. I hope you guys like it too!
