Our daycare has fallen through because they still haven't gotten their license yet. The boys were supposed to start Tuesday. So it looks like for the foreseeable future dh and I are going to be swapping work and childcare shifts until the daycare opens. This is going to suck. The one silver lining is we save $65 every day that they remain closed.

Had such a nice day today - bounce house with litasail and family, dd loves "meswey". Then I painted the guest bath while she slept 2.5 hours.
Also, maybe because of my cent this morning, I got an email for a phone interview for a job I applied to over 2 weeks ago. I'd written them off since it had been a while, but they are like 2 minutes from my house. Would be an amazing commute.
I'm golfing 18 holes tomorrow at 22 weeks pregnant. It's a work function. This should be interesting.
I put C down to bed a half hour early because he needs to get up over an hour early tomorrow for me to get to the golf thing on time. I hope he's not a complete disaster in the morning.
Back to work tomorrow. I've been off since June 4th. I had so much fun with DD this summer but she's looking forward to going back to daycare with all her friends and I'm excited for another year of first grade. It's always bittersweet when summer comes to an end but I absolutely love what I do and I think with all the breaks and vacations I get it's the best of both worlds.
Not looking forward to the alarm in the morning but back to a routine will be good.
DH is going back to work tomorrow (no kids, just in his classroom all week setting up since he has moved to a new school). So of course today I had to cook and clean and launder all the things, except we went to church and took a walk so I am still doing all those things now.
After SIX offers back and forth, we finally agreed on a price and are under contract!!
G is also still at my parents. They're driving down tomorrow and taking him daycare midday. I miss him like crazy but this has been a great thing for H and I.
We're mostly okay now. My landlords are pretty much evil and are only giving us half as much money back as they originally promised for moving early (if we even see that much). So because we had to move all our stuff from house #1 to storage, store for two weeks, then move it from storage to house #2, we effectively have to pay almost double than our original quote making it so we might actually pocket $200 after all is said and done. $200 is not worth packing/moving in a rush and living in limbo for two weeks. L and I are at the inlaws and H is with his brother.
The actual move todaywent pretty well. The guys were good and worked pretty quickly. I'll be so happy when we're settled in the new place and I don't have to think about moving for a long, long time.
The last two weekends have not been great. H has had to do a lot of work and I feel like I spent the whole time trying to clean, do laundry, and shop. I am ready for something fun next weekend.
On a positive note, since J passed the baked milk challenge I was comfortable with him having a hot dog (on the off chance there was dairy) when we went out for lunch on Saturday. This is going to make going out to eat so much easier!! Too often the kids menu choices are hot dog, mac and cheese, grilled cheese, or chicken fingers. Nothing he can eat with egg and milk allergies. So having a hotdog option is huge for us!!
Sweet! I found a neat local service event Kirklette and I can do together. We're going to be organizing pairs of gently worn donated shoes, so they can be distributed to the homeless. She saw me researching it yesterday, and asked if she could come help. I emailed the volunteer coordinator, and they said bring her along.
This is awesome! I think it's great whenever kids can get involved in giving back too!
DH has been a jerk all day. I know it's the moving stress, but dude, don't take it out on me. Plus he basically didn't do any parenting today and I was just done after dinner. Thankfully my mom handled bath so I could get a few minutes of peace.

OMG, we just heard dd screaming on the monitor, so I asked her what was wrong. She said "my finger!" So we rushed in. She'd twirled her hair so hard around her finger that it was stuck and the circulation was getting cut off we couldn't get it unwrapped so I had to cut a chunk of hair off. So scary. She fine though fortunately, happy with her Belle bandaid.
I finished our guest bath and I love it so much. It's a grayish pUrple. Pip to come later!
My baby is 11m old! I totally forgot to take the 11m picture. 2nd child syndrome. If i hadn't done it with dd1 I would have given up months and months ago. She will be 1 neXt month and I'm not handling it well.

Omg. I think I have to pick a fight with my mom. I just found out she's extending her (solo) hawaii trip to include a second meditation type retreat. She'll be in Hawaii for 2.5 weeks in September. But my parents can't come on the cruise with my brother's family and ours because it's "just too much" to leave the animals and whatever. But leaving my stepdad to do it all for weeks, when he's the one who works like crazy, wants to go, and desperately needs a vacation? Totally fine.
Now it's just a question of who can't keep their mouth shut first. Brother, SIL, or me. Money's on brother, but we're all pissed so who knows.
That sucks, bananapancakes, but at least you're nearly done with that asshole landlord!
Yes! The silver lining. There was even a showing on Thursday even though they have a brand new renter moving in on Tuesday. I feel awful for the new renters but I'm happy that it's not my problem anymore.
Bachelorette weekend was heavenly. In a gorgeous farmhouse in beautiful scenery. Partied so hard. Slept so hard in a slightly chilly room under fluffy down comforter and quilts. Laughed. Watched Dawson's Creek. Kayaked and swam in a crystal clear lake.
But I have to go to work tomorrow with purple nails and a gold glitter tattoo that says "bride tribe" ....
M: mommy, teachers tell the boys to point their penises down in the potty. Why they do that? Me: so they don't pee all over everything. M: oh... I don't have a penis. Are they private? Me: only boys have penises. They are their privates. Where are your privates. M: points to her underwear - "they are hiding underneath Olaf!" Me: yes, we keep our privates covered under our underwear and clothes. M: are boobies privates too? Me: yes, they are privates for girls and also should stay covered. M: I wish I had big boobies like you... Man, I never get my way.
I feel like I can tentatively say C is potty trained now? He's been in underwear for the last week, only 2-3 accidents and one was our fault. We still have to prompt him to go but he will when he has to. That's close enough, right?

I did my Christmas shopping for the nieces and nephews today. I got several things from the Amazon 30% off toy sale, which was why I started shopping in the first place and then was like why not, I'll just finish it.
My sister is taking her kids to Kenya for three months starting next week. My niece was supposed to start kindergarten this fall and now my sister is going to homeschool her in Kenya for three months and enroll her in kindy in January. I'm kind of giving the side eye to this whole plan. It's like my sister and BIL have never heard that stability and consistency is good for kids.
Today we went grocery shopping at Target and found a couple great clearance deals while we were there. First we found a brand new, in the box Chicco Keyfit30 base for $24! It wasn't marked but it was by the clearance stuff so I scanned it and it said "item not found". I brought it to a team member who scanned it with her handheld thing and it showed her $24. Score! I sold DD's infant seat and base for a couple reasons and knew I would be buying a Keyfit30 for #2 so this is perfect.
Then we found 2 boxes of unopened counter height bar stools on clearance for $8.98 each. Normally they are $50! So we grabbed both boxes, assembled them tonight and they look great at our kitchen island.
