I feel like it's a real thing if I tell you all. I need to lose weight. I'm just not happy 20 lbs too heavy. But food and wine are my loves and I'm sad. Anyway. I'm going to eat fruit instead of lunch dessert, try to limit the wine more, and pick lower cal options at restaurants :-( I cook a lot and I've been not paying much attention to full or low fat, or portion size. And I guess no more biscoff bars for dessert. But I can't do skinny cow. I just can't. I don't hate life that much.
You can do it! The restaurant thing is definitely the hardest part for me, especially if we are out for dinner because I will always have wine, too. Even the "healthy" options are twice the amount of calories I would usually eat. It sucks. I like the Brookside 100 calorie packs if I need something sweet- they are 2 WW pts and are really good. Good Luck!

Good luck! I'm also right there. I could lose 30 but I'd love 15. I've got a good handle on exercise and food choices but my portions are fit for lumberjacks. I've been tracking everything with mfp for two weeks and it has really helped me.

Food is just about my favorite thing, too. And I've found that after a few months of tracking my calories, for the most part my stomach seems to have shrunk to match actual, proper portion sizes. So I still eat the things I love, just one serving at a time. And the best motivation for exercising has been that I get to eat more calories Or drink them...
Meeeeee too. I joined a 6mo diet bet (I intended to join the gbcn one, but apparently I just joined their generic one. Oh well.). I've been making a few tiny changes here or there, but hopefully this will be the kick in the pants I need.
I just finished eating lunch. I got a side of green beans instead of a bag of chips. ::kicks rocks::

I'm so there with you. I need to lose 50 pounds and I've decided I'm taking it one step at a time.
Last week I got the food thing under control (planned meals, prepped, etc.). This week I'm adding in the exercise (started the Couch to 5K program, I figure I can commit to 3 days a week of working out) I'm going to work on the drinking thing, but it is the one thing I truly enjoy, so that will be a slow process.
I'm here too. I had to put on a suit today for work for the first time in a few months and even with spanx it is tight. Things have been super stressful at home with my husbands surgery recovery and all that goes with that and I have been eating my stress. I got up and worked out this morning and will eat better too. I also need to cut down on my adult beverages. WE can do this!

Same.
I've been trying the positive affirmations thing to try and motivate me to eat well and hit the gym more, but I think I actually just need to channel my anger and general annoyance at most things/people into motivation somehow. I think tonight I'm going to watch the Palin/Trump interview, then hit the gym immediately after. Or even just pull it up on my phone while I'm on the elliptical? I'll report back.
I really need to get on this as well, but I'm not sure I'm mentally ready yet. I'm not exercising right now, but I know eating smarter is really all I have to do.
I'm going to give myself a month to cycle through all the food we have at home - lots of bad stuff - and let my body heal. Then I'm going to up my protein intake and start taking in more fruit and veggies, and cutting out the stuff I don't need like chips, candy, excess butter etc.
The hard part is that holidays are RIGHT THERE (halloween, thanksgiving, christmas and NYE). Sigh. it's so hard to get back to it during these holidays.
This is why I signed up for the 6 month dietbet. I'm famous for getting serious in the short term, and then -whatever- happens (vacation, holiday, work stress, whatever), and I slide back into my old bad habits. This will hopefully keep me accountable through March, which will be a HUGE accomplishment for me.

Honestly, I lost 20 lb by just eating smaller portion sizes and cutting back a bit on wine. It was slow. It took almost a year fully to get to that point. BUT it was worth it to go slowly as I didn't feel like I was giving up very much. I still ate the food I loved and I didn't do anything low fat or cut anything out fully. I do eat a bit more healthily, have more protein and less junk, but I didn't give it all up, just less.
I need to lose 50lbs total. Today is the last day of this "Active August" challenge I'm a part of where I had to do 30 minutes of some kind of exercise every day. I pretty much only did C25K/elliptical, but considering how inactive I was, dammit, I'm proud I didn't miss a day!
Now that I know I have no excuse on getting in the exercise (I did 30 minute a day for 30 days in a row, CLEARLY there's room in my schedule), I want to spend September adding portion control/healthier eating into the mix.
I hate exercising. I like healthy food. But for some reason, I feel like next month's challenge is going to be so much harder for me than this month's was

You can do it! I'm trying to be healthier too. I was in great shape before I got pregnant and now I'm starting back at square one. I've started eating mostly clean but I'm making some exceptions (oatmeal, etc) since I'm nursing. And I've been including alcohol too. Lol. I really need to add more exercise into the mix now, I'm so out of shape. I worked out on Saturday and I'm so sore today but I'm feeling good about it.

How old is your baby? I was in amazing shape pre-pregnancy and I worked out until my 39th week. I worked out a bit when I was on maternity leave, but just have such a hard time making the time to do it now. I need to quit eating so much, but I'm also a little concerned about supply issues. This baby body is bumming me out.

almost 3months. Good for you working out during pregnancy! I pretty much completely stopped exercise during mine and had been eating anything and everything until recently. I've been worrying about my supply too since eating better which is why I modified my usual whole 30ish diet. I'm trying to keep up my calories, just with healthier choices and eliminating the processed junk. I agree about finding the time to work out, that is definitely a challenge for me too. I really wish I could do it more.
