I was rearended while stopped at a light. The person who hit me was cited/is at fault. I hurt my back/neck and have been going to PT. I have been uploading my receipts for my out of pocket copays to their insurance company/my claim. I have also called and they are not calling me back. Has anyone been through this? What is the timeframe for them to pay me back?

When I was injured in my car accident, nothing was paid until the case was closed and settled. For me it also involved a 3rd car (she hit us both) so it took six months. Good luck. Hope you get your money back. It's so frustrating.
Did you see a doctor who diagnosed the current injury as a result of the accident and did a referral specifically to the PT as a result?
Or did you go to PT on your own?
I went to urgent car that evening because I was nauseous and was worried I had a concussion. Urgent care wanted to do an X-ray but machine was broken. They asked me to call back the following day to see if it was working. Instead I went to see and Orthopaedics doctor (the next day) who did the X-ray and started me on PT.
Are you doing this through your insurance provider? The way I have understood this to work is that you deal with your insurance provider to cover your claims and then they go after the other party to get the money from them. Am I wrong?
When my car was totaled, my insurance company told me to use the other driver's insurance. Going through my own would have driven up my rates.
OP, keep contacting them. They may be waiting until all of your bills are in (radiology, ER, etc), but keep on them. The company I worked with was motivated and I had everything squared away in about 6 weeks.

My car insurance provider is aware. I also notified my health insurance provider. It sounds like health insurance provider will go after their car insurance company for their costs since it was the result of an accident. However it sounded like their car insurance company should be paying me back but I'm not totally sure.
If you are 100% not at fault, your rates should not go up. Your insurance company will recover their costs, along with your deductible, through subrogation.
Your insurance company should be handling this. Have you contacted your agent? What medical limit do you carry on your policy?
This is what I thought but they told me it's better to deal with it through the person who hit me's insurance than out it through my own. I filed a claim with my insurance company and it's currently on hold/closed but can be reopened at any time.
You go through your health insurance. You concurrently deal with your car insurance company. If your health insurances wants to get paid back they either get it after car insurance pays you or when it pays them. But health insurance still has to pay while liability for the accident is sorted out.
You should not be going out of pocket for anything other than deductibles. If that's what you are talking about, then yes, you resolve that with your insurance if you have coverage and with the other drivers if not. Health and car damage are two different claims, it's very unwise to settle health claims when you accept a new car and settle property claim. You don't want to settle medical until you know the scope of the injury and lifetime cost of treatment, which takes longer than replacing your car. You will likely be out of pocket co-pays until the final settlement, but if you can't afford it you can see if a lawyer will take the case and advance your expenses (or maybe even if there's a loan service that will do it). Frankly, I'd talk to a lawyer anyway. Insurance companies will do what they can to come out ahead, don't be afraid to play on equal footing.

Thank you! This is very helpful. My deductible was met prior to the accident and I have been paying my copays out of pocket so far.
I have been in two wrecks that involved extensive medical bills and the other driver was at fault. We didn't deal with anyone but our insurance and our attorney because both times the other insurance company refused to pay medical bills even though the injuries were deemed to be as a result of the accident. We had to sue the other insurance company both times.

You should ask your insurance agent because where I live, your injuries are covered under your PIP (personal injury protection) up to a certain limit and then the other party's coverage will go into effect. I don't remember it affecting rates of people who were not at fault in the accident in my state.

Absolutely this part. When I got hit about 15 months ago, I continued in PT for a while. That part of the claim was settled long after we sorted the car out.
