I take imitrex and it works about 80% of the time, but leaves me feeling pretty loopy afterward. I've found a lot of mine are related to food/sugars. My headaches are better when i'm eating low sugar/lower carb. except of course for the period of time when i'm transitioning my diet to low carb and the headaches ravage me every day for a month. it's ridiculous and I feel your pain. migraines are the worst. it seems so individualized though, so I hope you can figure out what works for you. I'd be curious to see what you think about working with a neurologist. It's something I haven't tried yet.

Could definitely be jaw/tension related. I get headaches really frequently, and like mpc said, for me, I know its linked to my eating. I need to buckle down and cut out the sugar.
I'd definitely worry a little about taking meds daily - you could be causing rebound headaches inadvertently.
the only things that works for mine are avoiding trigger foods (specifically wheat and sugar), the peppermint oil on temples PP said above, and an excedrin migraine with a fountain coke.
they went away completely last time i got pregnant, but don't seem to have yet this time so i'm struggling. i can't take excedrin and tylenol is CRAP.
i hope the neurologist can find some meds that will help you!
this contradiction drives me crazy but it is so accurate. I never know what to do. I know a coke will make me feel better. But I also know that having no cokes helps too.
So vanillin (fake vanilla flavoring) is scientifically proven to cause migraines. It's in freaking everything (except organic stuff, organic stuff has to use real vanilla). In any case it seems to greatly affect my DD1. I would consider if you are eating something this week that maybe has it in it.
My only experience with migraines is with my Dd1, so I'm new to this. I did put peppermint and lavender oil in hot water and had her breathe it in and it stopped her migraine that Advil, sea bands, pressure points, sleeping, etc couldn't touch.
