I'm probably at $250 and I think I just need a winter coat still. What did you put your 8-12-month baby in when they were outside in winter? Daycare takes them outside a lot, so I want to be sure he's warm.
DS was born in an opposite season so he was older but last winter he had a 3 in 1 coat and a Snozu jacket when he was in size 12 months/18 months.
A lot. I've been buying stuff since last spring for fal/winter. Every time someone posts a sale (ahem, CloudBee) I feel the need to jump on it. Also, since I didn't save anything from DS1 I had no <6 month size clothes for DS2. Mysteriously I still don't have any of this size in pajama jeans and will probably buy a couple more l/s shirts for DS1 this week.
I would guess $400 with shoes, HA pjs and random sale stuff from Gap/Kohls. I've also spent at least $100 on BST.
for fall i think i am at $100 including a fleece thanks to sales last year. no one buys us clothes or gives hand-me-downs. she still needs shoes, pjs, and some solid leggings and LS shirts.
i might end up spending a lot more money though because i bought all 2T, which is still huge on her. i'm waiting until after her birthday to buy anything though.
Carters/Osh Kosh - $291 (all 3 kids) Stride rite - $148 (girls shoes) Amazon - about $55 for Columbia fleece jackets for all 3 and snow boots for J Gap/Old Navy - $73 (all 3 kids) Kohls - about $50. (all 3 kids and a sweater for me and shirt for H. Total was $115) Gap - about $45. Order was for $205 but it was mostly H's stuff. Amazon $25 - See Kai run for J. I have a bunch of shoes in the closet but they are a size too big for now.
Last year at end of season I spent: About $100 on coats for all 3 at Gap $200+ on Tea (only found one order but I know I placed 2. The one I found was $100, the second was about the same) $50 on other Gap and a target clearance for J.
So all in, including what I spent last year on end of season I have spent about $1,037 for all 3 kids. This includes 2 pairs of Christmas Pjs for each kid.
All 3 still need a hat, gloves, and snow pants. And the girls will need boots. J also needs new socks. And the girls probably need a few more shirts but I haven't found anything I like.
Free so far. However, it stays summer in Texas until around Thanksgiving or after. Also I was finally able to break into my BF's hammies from her daughter. They live in NY so she had a lot of cold weather stuff. Before this I would say 300 was about average for a season. We got a lot of clothes gifted at holidays and birthdays so I just supplemented with some extras and a few fancy outfits.
I don't know, a few hundred dollars, maybe? I have picked up some stuff for DD1 here and there over the past several months (ie., sweaters/long sleeved shirts on sale). Aside from her own shoes, DD2 only has a few new things (and only because I somehow feel bad about her being #2 and not having her own things). Otherwise, she is totally set from her sister's old stash.
$100.00 at the Carter's sale. (Which was a lot of PJs for DS. He outgrew his and we have no handmedowns in that dept.) $50.00 at TJMaxx $30.00 on 2 pair of boots for DD (more for winter) $30.00 on two Under Armour coats for each I bought for a $15.00 a piece song at the local farm supply store. $50.00 in random cute outfits (dresses for DD and track suits for DS) on Amazon. Some of that is stuff to wear for Thanksgiving/Holidays.
DS needs some boots yet and probably new shoes.
I have outwear coming out my ears (as in 3 totes worth) so I really don't buy fleeces/lightweight jackets hats etc.
My Mom and sister both love to buy clothes for the kids so I try not too.
My daughter's entire wardrobe is hand me downs. I did get a winter coat, but I bought that on clearance at the end of last year, so it was only $15.
I haven't tackled shopping for my son yet. He needs to try stuff on to see what fits from last year. I'm pretty sure he will need longer pants, but I'm hoping shirts and his winter coat from last year can be reused.
Wait.... I do still need a bunch of shoes for each kid, so that will add up: new sneakers, winter boots, fleece lined crocs (sorry, haters, but they love them) for each kid.
I couldn't tell you because I bought SO MUCH ahead at the end of last season. I had 15 long sleeved tshirts when I went to open up my bin of stuff I sa saved for later. I'm going to guesstimate that after you add up what I spent then plus consignment sales, plus shoes and clothes I've picked up at Target and my Mini Boden order that we are close to $400. I just made $80 at a consignment sale last week that helps pay for some of the new stuff I've bought.
this is one area of our budget I spend pretty freely in.

I don't even want to begin adding it up.
DD1 has needed a whole new wardrobe as she's outgrown just about everything from last year. I also had to buy her a new pair of sneakers, school shoes, uniforms, a new Columbia fleece jacket, new leotards and acrobatic shoes for dance class. She'll most likely need new winter boots as well.
DD2 is covered by hand-me-downs. I did buy her a new pair of ballet shoes for dance class.
I've ended up buying quite a bit for DD3 as well since a lot of the clothes I saved for her were in rough shape.
$60 at Carter's today Maybe $40 buying random things ahead $30 on a Boden jacket $57 on two pairs of SR shoes, but I'm having buyer's remorse and may return them and get something cheaper.
I've gotten some good deals, so I think this will get us through the end of the year, especially given that she's likely to get some clothes for her birthday.
So far, about $13 at the crazy Gap sale (what was left, that wasn't cancelled). I think I got 3 pairs of pants, a few shirts, and a jacket out of that.
$30ish on a few carter's sets at Costco
And a huge bin full of gifted, hand me downs, and clothes I purchased at the end of winter last year.
We probably need some PJs still (and I know I'll fall victim is Costco has the HAs again). He will need shoes as soon as he starts walking. He also has a birthday coming up in a few weeks, and I imagine he'll get some clothes then. Other than that, I don't think he really NEEDS anything else.

I was just thinking that I have NO IDEA what the hell to buy my kid, because he spends 99% of his time in our house. I realized he probably needs some sweaters, pants, and maybe a pair of shoes. But does he need boots? A snow suit? Just a coat? He's going to be either in a car seat or a stroller, and he'll only be 7 months in December, so it's not like he'll be playing outside. I got all flustered, so I just bought him a Halloween onesie and some more pajamas in a size bigger and called it a day.
... I should probably figure this out at some point, though.
Well, I just looked at Mint. I try and break it down as best I can, but best answer is $500. But this includes EVERYTHING I've bought in 4t, which will fit her for the next year, not just fall.
Biggest purchases were $80 on 4 Tea dresses and 6 leggings $100 at HA during their $10 clearance $35 on 6 pairs of Carters pajamas $50 on Patagonia jacket $150 at Gymbo on tons of pants and shirts $80 on SKR shoes (2 pairs in 9, 2 pairs in 10)
ETA: And this spending started back in 12/2014. lolol And it's best answer because I buy a lot and then freak because I have so much, so I sell some stuff. So I can see what I spent on everything, but I usually sell through PP (or local).

My son turned 12m in Feb. That first winter, I bought the 5 pack of long sleeve striped bodysuits from Carters - those plus their pajama jeans was his go to outfit. I layered a white onesie under to keep him warmer.
He had a thin quilted coat and a knit hat/mittens set. I also bought knock off Robeez to keep his feet warm. I used a blanket on top in the car if needed.
That was it. I would have done more if he had been outside a lot, but he only was when we were running errands. Sometimes if it was really cold and we still needed to go out, I kept him in footed pajamas with his coat and hat.
I've spent about $60 on DS (sneakers and 3 LS tops) but he has a ton of hand me downs and shouldn't need too much. I still haven't tried on his winter coat so there may be another cost there.
DD is around $380 but I used $125 in GCs from credit card rewards so it didn't feel as bad. I am willing to spend more per item on her now at age 4 than I used to be because she is growing more slowly now so she fits in everything longer and she doesn't spill food on herself every day and stain everything.
$380 included: 2 sets of shoes (Stride Rite fashion boots and SKR Mary Janes) 4 pairs of tights 5 pairs leggings/jeggings 5 dresses 3 skirts 4 long sleeved tops 5 sweaters/sweatshirts/hoodies
Mix of Gymboree, Gap, Children's Place, Lands End, Target, Kohls. I almost never buy ahead because I am too paranoid about growth spurts. I'm expecting her to wear all of this stuff Sept-Apr so I shouldn't have to buy more clothes until shorts/short sleeves/tank top season. Her winter coat still fits but I will probably need to buy new snow boots. New hats and mittens are probably also on the agenda for both kids. Some PJs are tight looking but they still seem comfortable so I will wait and recommend that to MIL when she asks for Christmas.
Oh man. Probably $250 on shoes (including Ugg boots) and another $400? on clothes? I did a couple of huge Boden/Nordstrom/peek orders and the highest was $270 and lowest was $110 I think. So actually more than $400. I'm so bad at shopping for her. I hope this next one is a girl!
DS has 1 million pair of pants that still fit from last year . I wil spend like 50-100 on long sleeved shirts. His coat from last year still fits. I hoping this gets us through until Dec.
It is not uncommon for it to be in the 70s on New Year's Day so we don't have to get much. DD2 and DS2 have hand me downs and all the kids still have sweatshirts from last winter that fit. I will probably need to buy two pairs of jeans for DD1 and three for DS1 which will total about $75.
