I am annoyed by everything today and it is only 7 am. Of course it started last night. I found out that the school SPS enrolled Jr in doesn't have the program he needs so now I need to try and figure out something else.
I have somehow ended up trying to plan a baby shower for my sister. I live 2000 mikes away, why are people asking me for venue ideas. Shouldn't the local people do this.
I definitely feel extra sensitive today. Today is Garbage/Yard Waste/Recycle day. H only dragged out the Garbage and Yard Waste. So I had to get the recycle, since it comes only every two weeks. And I had to grab all the recycle from inside the house, which just peeved the crap out of me, because H doesn't break down boxes (cereal, wheat thins) etc. It drives me crazy, I'm irritated.
We also went to see houses last night. I'm mad at H for LOVING one of the houses, like enough to consider putting in an offer. I don't even know if he liked the house or the giant lot and the fact that he could park a million cars in the back yard, the neighbors on both sides had at least 8 cars each on their lots. The neighborhood sucked, the house didn't have anything we wanted: no master bath, tiny kitchen. I'm totally taking it personally, even though I know I shouldn't.

That is frustrating! Is there anyone at SPS who can help you figure this out?
Along the same vein, I'm annoyed because I was just told it is likely the teachers are going to strike, which means classes won't start next Wednesday. I really want to support the teachers but this is frustrating! joenali - give me the teacher perspective and make me feel better about this
I'm wearing a new top and new boots today so my morning is starting out pretty good. Just a normal day at work tonight should hopefully be able to get off at a reasonable hour to get to the gym and have dinner with hubby. I'm looking forward to salmon tonight I do a pretty good teriyaki style.
Hopefully the day turns around for you monsterz abd minion

If the teachers strike I may have more time to figure his school out that is the only plus.
I am going to contact the school and SPED department today to try and figure this out.
Meh I am cranky this am. work was super swamped up unti now. My neck hurts. When my boss gets in I am gonna see what I can do about maybe taking a half day on Friday.

I'm sad. Tman started school today. I know it's not all because of school, but I lost it on the way home. It's partially because I love spending time with him and summer seems so far away, and partially because he's so big and old. He's amazing and such a gift and I'm so proud of him, but it's just going too fast. I just couldn't keep it together today - but not until I dropped him off. It would have hurt his feelings and made him worry about me if he would have seen me upset.
I made a whole long list of household stuff that I'm going to get started on to distract myself and to have this time where I'm not working be productive. No use moping around when the closets can be cleaned out, etc.
And maybe today is the day that I'm contacted about a new job, an amazing job, the best job.

Irritations is a great way to categorize Wednesday
I'm irritated because for some dumb reason I decided to try to watch a replay of the VMAs last night, and I ended up feeling like an oldz. I really don't get popular culture these days.
I'm also annoyed at my H. His back, but mainly shoulders, started bugging him last night. He started bugging me to walk on his back, which really means me trying to use my feet to rub his shoulders while he lays down. He claims my hands/arms aren't strong enough to get the job done, but the angle I have to have my feet really causes my knees pain. The end result is me being angry at him for causing me knee pain and him angry at me because I couldn't get the knot out. I say the man needs to start scheduling massages, but he considers that to be too much of a "luxury" item.
BUT (good news) is that Football REALLY, REALLY, like totes for real, STARTS TOMORROW with the college football season kicking off! And my Huskies play on Friday

@maddawg228 has your H tried rolling on the wall with a lacrosse ball? That usually gets all the knots out of my shoulders and butt (yes I get big knots in my butt bkb finds this hilarious), if one is really bad I hold the spot that hurts a while and then roll just above and below it. Usually takes care of it.
Yesterday at work was CRAZY. We were with out power and of course it's the morning I have PT. My staff called me but didn't leave a message so I didn't call back. Then they called this really annoying coworker of mine who called my boss. So by the time I could give my boss an update he was annoyed he had to hear it from this annoying coworker . Anyway so I had to deal with that all day instead of being productive.
Yesterday was rotten for me. I had insomnia, then the cortisone steroid shot I had the day before at the MRI was just this awful adrenalin rush for most of the day. I don't wiggle...I kept wiggling and tapping my foot and my fingers, my heart was racing, I couldn't concentrate, it was awful. And then late in the afternoon, I started melting down. I freaked out to my best friend about getting new frames, she called me, then i hung up on her because I couldn't listen to her and started crying hard...but still at the office with a few pople working late so trying to be quiet. I finally had to text H that I couldn't function, couldn't stop crying, and couldn't take care of my car (tire pressure warning came on during my drive to work after he had the tires plumped up the night before at Jiffy Lube). He drove all the way up to my work, found a nail in my tire, took care of getting us to the Pep Boys 2 blocks away while i tried to stop crying. UGH. I blame AF starting, the shot, and anxiety.
Today I feel normal but really badly at letting my bf down as she needed me yesterday I feel tired now and there is too much to do.

A quick Google search shows me that lacrosse balls are sold at a nearby Sports Authority. I know what I'm doing after work. Thanks for the tip! He drives me crazy with his shoulder knots.

Is it in Boston? I had to plan my sister's bridal shower and bachelorette from across the country.
No, Syracuse area. If it was Boston that is so much easier as I know the city better.

There are several things the district is not budging on: 1. Equitable recess times across the district. Some schools get 15 minutes across the day, some get 45. The district says it's up to each school to decide. Except, the most diverse schools and lower income schools have less recess than most and we all know kids need to move to learn! It's not equitable.
2. Equity teams at each school that include teachers, parents and admin. The team would meet to talk about discipline etc. The district only wants to pilot this in 6 schools. The union wants it in all schools now.
3. The district wants to extend the school day by 30 minutes without compensation. The union says , yes we'll work longer days, but it's time to compensate our work.
4. The district wants to give us a 2% raise each year for three years. The union is asking for an 8% raise each year for three years. The district has the money to give raises. We have not had a COLA in over 6 years, let alone a raise.
5. Fair teacher evaluations that do not use student growth as a way to discipline teachers.
6. Less standardized testing.
Does that help? Please let me know if you have more questions. I'll try to answer them.
SEA Board recommends strike motion Last night, the SEA Board of Directors voted unanimously to recommend a strike motion for members to vote on at Thursday's general membership meeting.

Evening! I've been staying in bed for the last few weeks because I can't move without my butt hurting immensely. Luckily the surgery to remove my cyst is on Friday, yay! And of course the surgery isn't until the afternoon and since I can't eat after midnight like some kind of gremlin, I will be starving!
I'm so glad I'm finally getting this thing removed, no more pain!

I'm so sorry! I hope everything goes well tomorrow and you are back to yourself in a few weeks. ?

Totally not a teacher but...wow 8% increase in 3 years? I don't know any company, private or public that does that.

I misspoke. It's a 6% raise for 3 years.
that's still pretty significant. At my company, that's the equivalent of getting promoted 3 years in a row. increases in salary are typically in the 1-2% range

If you're not had COL increase or any other raise for a period of six years, I don't think that's unreasonable. That's beside the fact that teachers are woefully underpaid, as it is.
