I don't think we have done one of these in a while. But figured since the board has been so slowwwww we could do a thread on anything S&B related that we have purchased or tried lately that we love. I know we cover clothing/accessory purchases in the ootd threads usually.
I love ordering makeup from Nordstrom online bc of the 3 samples you get to choose for free to try. I got a sample of this stuff and loved it!!! I've been trying to choose different types of moisturizer since I'm trying to decide what to pull the trigger on investing in. It's a bit pricey but it left my skin feeling so hydrated and I woke up in the morning and my skin (after one use) looked brighter, felt smoother and appeared more even. It's a serum formula.
I also tried a sample of the Charlotte tillbury moisturizer since a lot of bloggers have been raving about her products. I hated it. It was SO thick and felt like it just sat on my skin and felt sticky. I woke up and had a couple of breakout spots in the morning and my skin was so oily and shiny.
Any recent products out there that anyone has tried that they'd like to share?
Raves - Becca champagne pop, urban decay concealer, beauty blender, Better than sex mascara, KVD liquid liner, Nars lip pencils, Olaplex home treatment, and Latisse--I'm on week 13 and my eyelashes are INSANE!
Rants - Clinique foundation + concealer: the glass bottle makes it incredibly hard to get the product out when it gets down towards the end of the bottle.
@blonde407. Do you have before and after pics of the latisse? I am really close to trying. But have also heard neuLash from Nordstrom is just as good but without having to go through a doc or prescription. Has anyone tried that?

I'll check my phone to see if I took a before photo. I order mine through lovelatisse.com and it is much cheaper and had it within 3 days of ordering. I did some research to make sure their product was the real deal, and it is. The doctors office that it comes from is listed on the latisse website and always offers discounts.

Okay I'm soooo interested in this as well. So I'm looking at ordering the 140 applications. So almost half a years worth. Is that how it works? Can it be used every other day to stretch it out or every day is a must. Any tips, tricks before I pull the trigger?

all i want in life is 4000 matte lip colors, and it to cool off enough to wear the deep shades for fall!!
if you're looking for good ones without a bunch of $$: maybelline creamy mattes milani matte lipsticks milani amour matte lip cremes (if you can find them, they're LE) wet-n-wild megalast lipsticks from the fall LE collection. they aren't very matte, but not super shiny. but i mean, for $2, LOOK AT THESE COLORS!
Hard to really see the difference, but it is huge in person. The top picture is my before (I had just taken off lash extensions so they were probably shorter than usual), but you can't even see them. The bottom picture is about a week ago... you can see how long they are on the sides. If I look up, my lashes touch my brow bone.
The 5ml comes with 140 applications and you are supposed to use one for each eye (for hygiene reasons) and one drop per eye, but I put one drop in the top of the cap and only use one applicator for both eyes. I have heard of buying a make up brush but I don't have the time to clean it every night. When I first started using it, I used it every night, and now I use it maybe every other night. My eye color hasn't changed, but I did notice some redness around my eyes and if I rub them they are a little sensitive... but, so worth it lol.
Raves - CeraVe face wash has been great so far. I've been a loyal Purity user and my Ulta didn't have any so I picked this up and so far it's been great.
NYC In a Minute top coat is great! I ran out of my usual Essie Out the Door and I'm so glad I picked this stuff up, I feel like I like it better than Essie.
These Exact Stretch pants from The Limited, ON has the same print but I'm in between sizes there right now. These were a great fit.
Rant - Dr. Woods Black Soap I read good reviews on a blog so I decided to give this a try. I have oily skin and this stuff left me feeling like I had layer of something still on my face.

this is the only topcoat i use!! so shiny, dries fast, doesn't shrink up on my nails and when it gets to the bottom of the bottle and gets kind of gummy/thick, i don't feel bad chucking it because a replacement costs like $2.

Yes!!! Dare I even say my nail polish lasts longer!

My mom has worn false eyelashes for about as long as I can remember. She decided to try Latisse this year and has given up her false lashes. If that isn't a testament to it working, I don't know what is!
Until you give it a try, my rave is Loreal Double Extend Mascara. I have the world's shortest lashes (inherited from my mom--see above) and this stuff works. My lashes look so long!
Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Tarte Skinny Smolder Eyes Waterproof Liner Hourglass Illusion Skin Tint Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray Two Faced Primed & Poreless Powder
I have always wanted to try the airbrush legs, but I'm nervous I will sweat it off or get it on my clothes. You haven't had any issues?
I have to scrub it off in the shower. It didn't even come off in the pool when I was swimming in Vegas last week. I do notice that if I wear white jeans the day after applying it it will rub off a bit on the inside of the jeans but came right out when I washed them. I've been using it more than 10 years and consider it a beauty staple.

This is so intriguing. I've been wanting to try. Especially for an upcoming wedding I have to attend. But was so worried that it would run off on everything. So I'll give it a try and report back too! Thanks!!

My friend swore by chantecaille HD setting powder so I bit the bullet and bought it. It is ridiculously expensive and I expected miracles at the price. Well low and behold I hated it, it made me very chalky looking and oily. So I am taking it back tomorrow.
I've never used a cleansing oil. I keep imagining it making my face a greasy mess?
I consider myself to have oily skin and use the Bosica makeup breakup oil and it doesn't leave me a greasy mess. It washes off with my normal cleanser without leaving a film or anything. Takes waterproof mascara off great!
Idk if my skin is better because of the pregnancy or because of Paula's Choice or a combo of both, but I've been glad to be able to get away with something lighter than a foundation.
I'm usually not a fan of a white cream that adjusts to your skin tone, but I've really liked this Loreal BB Cream...and it takes so much less time to put on in the morning!

I can vouch for this. I love the airbrush legs when I have an event and want my legs to look nice. Bonus: it covers varicose veins.

I'm definitely going to give this a try. Maybe I will be able to wear shorts again!

This has been my HG for years, I prefer it over any topcoat. I'll buy like 4 at a time.
I cashed out a ton of sephora points for the living proof perfect hair day system and I'm not impressed. I've used the shampoo and conditioner, styling cream, and style extender spray. I like them all just fine but I don't think it's extending time between my washings. I did like the way the style extender and the styling cream smelled and the texture they added but again, didn't notice any substantial change.
Someone talk to me about this Champagne Pop stuff. It's a highlighter right? I don't know how to highlight. What do I do with it?
You can use it on the top of your cheekbone, down your nose in the middle, forehead. I just use mine right at the top of my cheek. The creator of the Champagne color, Jaclyn Hill has some youtube videos showing you how to do it. I honestly did NOT want to like it as much as I did! I hate being such a bandwagoner, lol. I had to order mine from Sephora because they were sold out.
