I just set up our utilities on auto-pay and promptly forgot that I had done it and paid them last week. The auto-pay just came out on Monday so I have now paid gas and electric twice this month. :^)
I also have car, mortgage, auto insurance, and at&t that I have had on auto-pay for a while now.

Mortgage and the Electric/Gas bill are the only ones so far. When faced with the choice of having them set up to auto bill on my side (ie, I set it up via my bank account) or have it set up on the billers side, I always choose *my* side so I have control of pushing the payment. So far none of my other bills are able to be automated through my bank. If I could I would have them all set up to auto pay.
ETA - forgot the Car Insurance bill is auto deducted by them - that was one of our first auto pays before I decided that I didn't want billing companies having THAT much clearance to get $$ from my account.
Mortgage, home and auto insurance, car payment, electric and gas utilities, cell phone, cable and internet, gym membership, preschool...pretty much anything that CAN be auto paid, is.
We have never had an issue with our mortgage payment, in 10 years of autopay, but obviously there is always a chance something can go wrong.
ETA: only the mortgage and car payment come out of our checking account. Everything else is on the credit card.
