I always forget they'll do a lot of alterations for free. I want to keep the dress but it needs a little dart or something to take in the armholes to not show a bra. Anyone know how long they take? How do you go about getting it done (I ordered the dress online)?

Take the dress to the store, tell them you need it altered. They'll have you try it on, tell them what you need/want done. They'll give you a time estimate (usually a week), but if you tell them you need it sooner than that, they can usually rush it.
HTH!
ETA: @ksta, take your shipping paper/receipt so they know where you bought the dress.

I went in today and despite paying full price, they would have charged me $23 to take up the shoulders. I ended up returning the dress instead because pulling it up a little to eliminate the armhole gap then made it wrinkle a bit more on the sides as it messed with how the line fell and the back of the neckline then was too high.
I wonder if its a price of item thing because I then found a coat and the saleslady suggested I have the sleeves shortened and that was free. Dress was $120 bought full price, coat was $158 bought full price.
