I am currently renting. I would like to hang curtains over 4 windows in my home but the windows are just a smidge too wide for standard curtain rods. I already have a bunch of curtain rods in the standard size. I don't really want to invest in longer curtain rods since I'm not sure I will use them in my next place. Is there a cheaper solution to hanging curtains over wider windows? TIA!

I've never tried this, but if you have round rods, maybe putting a long wooden dowel inside the two rod pieces would allow you to get a couple of extra inches in the middle. Does that make sense?
Have you checked WallMart? They have a copy of the Pottery Barn black rods with the curved mounting ends --- up to 100" max. They have two sizes, for regular windows and wider.

You could also rig something with a pvc pipe (painted) of right length, that fits into regular rod supports? I admit I've never done this myself but I've seen it all over diy blogland...
