i know that i'm supposed to tell you that it's garbage, but we had the necklace and are believers. ryan was completely miserable when his first two teeth came through. we tried everything and did the necklace as a last resort. once we got it, his next four teeth broke through and we didn't even know they were coming until they were in. he slept it in and everything
The only thing that worked for us a bit was the banana tooth brush /teether. Bonus, he now loves brushing his teeth since it was a toy first.
As for the rash, keep 'im slathered in vaseline/aquaphor. I had a shiny baby for months, because his first took its sweet sweet time. The 2nd came in within a week with only minor conplaint, and the top 2 had busted out by the next month with no problems at all. I'm hoping the trend continues. The dr did say that for a few weeks prior to the first tooth, the teeth all sort of shift around under the gums, which is uncomfortable and scary for them.

I can only offer commiseration. Your baby's twin over here is on, I think, his THIRD tooth in a week and a half. It's the pits.
He also doesn't consistently hold anything in his mouth so we're spending a lot of time shoving stuff in there and hoping he'll bite on it and STOP CRYING FOR A DAMN MINUTE.

Have you tried MAM pacifiers? That was the only thing that ds took other than our finger.

Oh yeah he does do pacifiers (the MAM ones) but bigger things like teethers that he has to hold with his hands don't stay in. We have a couple of the teethers shaped like pacifiers but those weird him out, lol.
