DH is 5'8" and I am 5'6". He is the shortest guy I've ever gone out with beyond a first date and I am the tallest woman he's ever gone out with. He has little issue with his height and I don't care too much either. He is the tallest man in his family ever, and I am among the tallest women in my family (I have a second cousin who is 5'10"). He always talks about our kids having a shot at being average height bc of me.
I think what bliss said is fine but I feel like short guys are an underrepresented minority and those of us who love them should get a thread without those who won't give them a chance
At least I admit that I know it makes me AN asshole.
I put "a asshole" instead of "an asshole" because I don't bother spell checking my posts.
are you drunk? you wrote that you were "a snob" - you never called yourself an asshole. mixedberry replaced snob with asshole - she wasn't giving you shit for improper use of a/an, she just thought your comment was douchey and snob wasn't harsh enough.

No. I honestly didn't even remember what I called myself and didn't bother to go look. 8-D
Eh. Snob, asshole, whatever. Doesn't bother me. I stand by my statement.

It was "snob." And it's the "I won't" that makes you sound assholish.
And it was Bliss giving me a hard time about a/an, because the indefinite article changed when I changed the noun and I didn't catch it. Off to lick my wounds. Maybe I'll even GBCGBCN or whatever the phrase is, then you'll all be sorry.
ETA: Ehh, I didn't get the whole uproar thing, so I went back and looked at the posts. I think Bliss THOUGHT I was changing the a/an, which I agree would merit a "FFS."
DH is 5'7", but I'm only 5'0" so we actually match pretty perfectly. Truthfully, I never considered height when I was dating guys. The boyfriend before DH was 6'.

My husband is 6' but my ex was 5'6" which was 2" shorter than me. He liked that I was taller. I wasn't crazy about it but got over it. Now I'm glad my husband is taller bc I never have to think about it with heels etc lol
Not me. I dated a lot of short guys (probably because I'm 5'2"?) but Calvin's 6'2".
I kind of wish he were shorter. 12" is a big difference. I prefer for him to stand a step down from me when he hugs me so my face doesn't get mashed into his chest.
I'm 5'2". H is 6'1" so basically the same. Our friends make jokes about how awkward it must be to kiss while standing.
I'm 5'9" and H is 5'8" - wearing heels is funny because it puts me anywhere from having to look down at him a little bit to a whole head taller, but he likes it. I once dated a guy that was 5'6" - he didn't act like the man in the relationship so I noticed the glaring height difference, dating shorter guys never bothered me as long as they didn't ask all emasculated by my being taller than them.
DH and I are both 5'6", but I always appear taller because he slouches and my shoes have thicker soles. I rarely wear heels, so I was fine wearing flats for our wedding. He has short legs too.
Fairy tales do not tell children the dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children the dragons can be killed. - G. K. Chesterton
DH is 5'6" and I'm 5'3". It's interesting because I like wearing tall heels so I am sometimes taller than him. I really could have used a couple inches more height for my wedding shoes but figured I didn't want to tower over DH in all our wedding pics. ;D
He's shorter in both ways this title can be taken. Shorter than me and shorter for a guy. He's 5'6" and I am 5'7" He also had short legs - he needs his 30" inseam pants (shortest they sell on the shelf) hemmed about an inch. It's something I never considered in looking for a mate.
Some times we can find 29s and they are like gold!
I am 5'8 amd DH is 5'6. It used to bother me, but I have since gotten over it. I will generally wear flats when I am with him, but if we go to a wedding or something I won't wear heels over 3". All my other heels for when I am not with him are like 4".
