Messy beds skeeve me out. How can you fall asleep if the sheets aren't perfectly straight and the covers evenly distributed over each side so it's not too heavy on top of you?
Because when I get out of bed, I am leaving the perfect little cocoon I made for myself. If I don't make the bed, it's still there waiting for me.
I cannot have the fitted sheet tucked in. It makes me nervous. Thus, making the bed would involve me having to kick all the covers around, reposition...screw that. It's easier to ease back in to the nest.

We only use a fitted sheet and a duvet. I make the bed by fixing the pillows and straightening the comforter. I then fold back the comforter half way (and straigthen). A clean, neat bed that can still air out. I run an air purifier too because of my asthma. I don't think it has any effects on my bed, but maybe?

The only time I make the bed is when I wash the sheets. I wash the sheets whenever I think about it, which is not often. In short, I am a slob and I do not care.

I'm going to tell you right now people, the biggest concession I have made in my marriage is to stop making the bed every day. I still say i don't sleep as well because the bed is sloppy. I'm not telling H he may have been correct.

Hey now- this forum (or more likely TheNest) is the reason I started making my bed daily & washing my sheets 1/7-10 days. Now that I'm thinking about it, it was almost definitely the Nest b/c people were slob shamed Hard, & even as a lurker, I felt really dirty for only washing sheets 1/month & making my bed only for company. Now all of a sudden, I'm supposed to stop doing the action that was ridiculed to the nth degree a couple of years ago?!? Haters gonna hate. Bedbugs don't like my 1,000,000 thread count sheets anyway
Yeah, I just don't feel right going through the day knowing that my bed is messy. Also, a clean, tidy bed can make or break a bedroom, imo. I usually wash my sheets twice a week, since I have pets.
But even if I didn't, there's something about clean, soft sheets that puts me in a good mood.
Stupid shit makes me happy, okay? I'm simple like that. lol

Clean sheet day is my favorite day of the week.
Mine too! I always take a shower that night, because being clean and getting into a clean bed is one of the best feelings ever.
