Finishing up Still Life by Louise Penny. It's a very enjoyable book but I've been busy this week and barely found time to read. My FIL mentioned that they turned the book into a TV movie, so I'm excited to watch that.
QOTW: I watch almost no TV unless it's Netflix or Amazon Prime, so no game shows for me.
I just finished Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, inspired by last week's QOTD. It was okay. I gave it four stars because I recognized it was "good", but I didn't particularly love it. I'm reading To Kill a Mockingbird (and then Go Go Set a Watchman) for my book club's Harper Lee double header.
I'm reading Where the Mountain Meets the Moon. It's a fun Wizard of Oz/fable story, and so far I'm enjoying it.
I like quiz shows, but they are rarely on at convenient times. I used to watch Jeopardy every day, but they've moved it to 3pm here while I'm still at work.
I'm reading All Who Go Do Not Return by Shulem Deen. It's a memoir of his leaving the Skverer sect of Hasidism in New Square, NY. I'm more than half way through it and it is fascinating.

I'm read Restoration by Rose Tremain. I'm enjoying it, in that I enjoy the writing style, but I do not really care about the main character. I'm 6 chapters in and he's already grating on my nerves. I'm going to persevere, but I'm prefer for it to be a sloggy struggle.
QOTW: I love Jeopardy! It was the biggest thing I missed, and could not get, on tv here in Australia when I moved. I would happily buy an iTunes subscription to it. I have watched since it came back in 1984 -- first taping it on my VCR and then on the DVR to watch with my family later. Now I subscribe to a service that streams free-to-air channels for Americans in the military and/or overseas.
I'm reading The Prisoner of Heaven by Carlos Ruiz Zafron. I'm disappointed it isn't nearly as long or good as the first two books in this series. It feels like he had no plot but still wanted to push for another book.
I'm also reading the third book in the Gentelmen Bastard series. It's fine for the fantasy adventure journey it promised just like the first two books.
I used to love jeopardy but I never watch live tv anymore, we only do Netflix.
We by Yevgeny Zamyatin - it's Russian dystopian fiction, written in the 1920s and was highly influential to Aldus Huxley and George Orwell. I like it, but since it's an older novel, and a translation, it can be difficult to read at times so I'm going pretty slowly with this one.
Yes Please by Amy Poehler - I've only read the intro so far, but I'm not super excited about it; it's a book club pick that I wouldn't have ordinarily chosen to read on my own.
The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd - another book club pick, and I was a bit skeptical at first, but it sucked me in and I'm about 30% of the way in and really enjoying it. I have the Oprah 2.0 book club digital addition, so periodically there are links to Oprah's thoughts on a given passage.
QOTW: I used to watch Jeopardy all the time, and I'll still watch it occasionally but I don't seek it out. Corny and/or overly dramatic quiz shows like Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader, or the one with the bomb that blows dog food and marinara sauce on everyone, just annoy the crap out of me and make me change the channel.
I plan to finish Missoula by John Krakauer tonight. I a presenting in a class tomorrow on university sexual assault policy and the professor asked me to stay for the discussion about the book. It is well written, but not an easy read due to subject matter.
My next read will be something happier.
QOTW: I don't typically watch any game/quiz shows, but enjoy one if I see it.
