I have my first appt with my new OB here on Thursday. I've been talking to some ladies here who have seen him and they've all had nothing but good things to say about him and their experiences with the hospital I picked. That really eases my mind on whether I made the right choice about where to go.
Last night I had the realization that this time next weekend, we'll be down to less than a month until my due date! I can't believe we are getting so close to finally meeting this boy. Some days it still doesn't feel real that we finally will have a tiny screaming human of our own soon.
Morning!! Good luck Thursday, Gumby! I'm kinda in a funk, I don't know what the deal is. I need to snap out of it! I've been testing my blood sugar 2-3 times a day since last week when I had my scan that showed how big the baby is. So far all my numbers are looking good, but I'm still nervous for my official test on Monday. I really wish I could just do the 3 hour. I need to run 57855 errands today.

You're getting so close G22. So exciting! Good luck tomorrow boiler717
I have my second beta tomorrow and I am so scared that the numbers aren't doubling appropriately. I had a lot of that lower abdominal cramping yesterday while I was cleaning the house. As soon as I was done and laid on the couch, they pretty much went away and I haven't really had many since. And my butt muscle is so sore today from my PIO shot last night. It hurts to walk.
Good luck with your glucose test tomorrow boiler717! I hope you pass with flying colors, so you have one less thing to worry about.
Oh my test is NEXT Monday. I am basically making myself insane so I think I will send an email tomorrow to ask if I can do it earlier or at least make sure that he's seen my scan results and doesn't want to do anything differently. I am sure I am 100% crazy testing my blood sugar so much when I haven't been asked to do so!

Ah bummer it's still a week away! I don't think you are crazy for testing your sugars already. You are more informed on what your body is doing, that's not a bad thing especially in the case of pregnancy! I hope maybe they will move it up for you!
My first u/s is Tuesday. I can't wait. DH is able to take time off work and come with me. he will however miss my next u/s with is Oct 8th because he will be out of town hunting with my dad.
This weekend is going by so slowly at work. I wish I didn't work weekends.

Eeek good luck! I can't wait to hear how it goes! I'm glad your H at least gets to be there for the first one.
Times like this kind of suck for being so many time zones ahead of you guys. I don't want to wait until Tuesday night my time for an update! lol

Ya, and my u/s isn't until 3pm PST. I have to make them as close to 3:30-4 as possible because then DH can work until just before the appointment of possible.

Ha! Now you know how I felt all these years. When important updates were due, I'd literally wake up and check GBCN first thing.
I love feeling spoiled when I'm at my parents loira! Enjoy every second of it! Has the transition of being back home been going ok?
It's been okay so far. It's kind of like being on holiday, so I know the real transition will come a bit later once I realise that I'm actually staying. My brother is living in Japan this year, so even though it would be nice to see him, it's also nice to have one less person in the house. I miss my H and can't wait for him to join me. How has Germany been for you? I'm so glad you found a great place to live.

Yea, I'm sure as time passes it will feel less like vacation and more your "new normal". I absolutely get that! I'm still in that phase too right now.
Germany is going well so far. The area were in is absolutely beautiful! Though because we are still staying on base right now sometimes I forget we are in another country since I'm surround by English speakers here. Our house will be in a quiet little village, so I'm sure that little bubble will be popped once we move into it. But we've been told there are a few other military/English speakers in our new neighborhood, so that will be nice. But we got a lot done this week in terms of picking up our car, finding a house, ect. I'm still intimidated going off base and trying to talk to German speakers right now since I know hardly any, but I know it will be more easy with time. I'm going to take a Germany class next month and try to learn a little bit.

Nice! I used to live very close to the German border when I lived in France, and I found that most younger people in the large cities spoke very good English. I imagine that might be harder to come by in a small town, though. Awesome that you are going to take a class. I've always wanted to learn German beyond the basic 'one beer, please' phrases I mastered 12 years ago.

Because the American base is here, there are more German-English speakers than other places in the country. I've been told my OB, the midwives in his office, L&D staff and nurses will all speak quite a bit of English which is nice. That's a big reassurance for me, since my German medical vocabulary is limited to the words "ambulance, hospital, and OBGYN". Ha
I'm kind of proud of the fact that I've added a few German words to my vocabulary this week between studying now for the license test I have to take and driving around when we went to look at houses. I still butcher them when I say them and can't formulate a real sentence with them, but I can at least see them on a sign and know what they mean! That's more than I knew a week ago.
We're finally making progress on our registry, and it's actually been kind of fun! Last night we set up the Pack'n'Play that our friends handed down to us to make sure it is still in good shape, and the swing that will either stay with us or go to friend's sister since she is pregnant too. The parts were all mixed together, and a couple vital swing parts were stashed somewhere else, so DH had quite the challenge getting them together!
Trying for #3; FET 8/18 -- BFN. Leaving things up to chance for now... After three years, three IVFs, and two FETs, we finally have our miracle babIES!
Fx and good thoughts for tomorrow, awick14! You're going to have all of us waiting with bated breath.
I hope you really like the OB, G22! Did you hear for sure about the other house?
Oh no, boiler717. I hope they can get you in earlier! I'd hate to see you torture yourself with blood tests for another week.
So many good thoughts coming your way, kellikans! You know the cramping is normal, but I know how hard it is to trust.
AFM, I'm beat! We got back from our whirlwind weekend in Phoenix, and I'm relaxing with football and making a meal plan. I'm going to pass out at about 7, I predict! I had to get up at 4:30 to make our flight home. The reunion was fun but weird. The main event was a long, boozy lunch. Well, it had better be, since they charged $100/pp! Dude. There was at least 1 kid per adult, and they were left to run around like they're feral. I saved this baby from inadvertently killing himself about 3 times. Once, he almost pulled all yeh glassware off the bar onto himself. OMG. I needed a nap after that.
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.
I too love how busy this board is getting. It's crazy. And I'm still in total disbelief that I go here now.
I'm 9 weeks tomorrow. Five pregnancies and this is the first making it to week 9. This is new territory. I haven't had any spotting at all in several days, most of the past week, I think. Knock on wood! I cramping a little right now and still do almost every night for a bit. Freaks me out every time. H is a saint and tries to reassure me ALL.THE.TIME. about how it's normal and is just the baby taking over the joint.
My first OB ultrasound is on Thursday afternoon and on Friday I have an appointment with a nutritionist. My first actual OB appointment isn't until 10/19 which seems so weird. I'll be 12 weeks that day. I'm so looking forward to having my appointments at our hospital downtown. It's maybe a 15 minute walk/subway ride from both of our offices. No more going to the clinic way out in the burbs and having to drive in those days and take a whole morning off work.

Mushe, the last house we looked at on Friday ended up being perfect AND we could move in as soon as next weekend potentially. Fingers crossed if all goes well over the next few days with signing the rental contract and all, we could have the keys by Thursday. Granted we have no furniture to stick in there until the storage company brings our stuff to us, but at least we'd have keys and a house! So we technically have a house, but I'm not holding my breath until we have the keys because I'm afraid of something happening.
Yay for this milestone of 9 weeks trace! Can't wait to hear how your ultrasound goes this week too!

We've signed what's called a "promisary note" with the LL/rental place, meaning they will not show it to anyone else right now because we want it. Being overseas, we are required to work with the base housing office to sign the rental contract. They are kind of the mediator between us and the LL, making sure all is in order. So, tomorrow we're going into the housing office and starting that process. Which is why I say, I kind of have a house but not officially yet.
When we live off base in the states, we don't have to go through the housing office and can set up our own rentals/contracts. But they want to make sure everything is in order overseas, which I'm grateful for the extra help due to language barriers and such.
trace- I can't wait to here about your u/s on Thursday.
Most OBs here won't see patients until between 8-10 weeks. I only got in early because of my history.
When I first called to schedule an appointment a few weeks ago, the scheduler said that first appointments may not be until 12 weeks. It just seems so strange to be considered a normal pregnant person right now! It's only going to be about 2.5 weeks between this week's u/s and my OB appointment so it's really not that long. I need to chill but it's hard. lol.

I can't quite believe that I belong over here now but I guess I do! I'm 4w2d today. POAS on a FRER I had lying around and got an immediate dark line, darker than the control. Beta isn't until Tuesday. I'm trying to get an early u/s on Oct 5 as I'll be leaving town for a month that evening and have a history of ectopic.
