I skip here or there but usually..I don't have much choice as I have to douse myself in chemicals to keep myself presentable to the public. I've been in a constant battle with my skin since I was 9yrs old. I used to have to shower 2xs a day and drive an hour to a hospital for treatment 3-4 times a week.
If you don't mind me asking, what kind of skin issues and what kind of treatments? Are you okay now?
Oh just very bad psoriasis on much/most of my body that just showed up overnight one day. It is really not pretty, don't google...lol. I had phototherapy in one of these several days a week (which was pretty terrifying/embarrassing (had to go in naked) as a kid I have to admit)--I lived in a small town in BFE in the early 1980s & that was the closest place with one (& my Derm was there too). I had to take a bath at night, put on a bunch of creams & crap all over my head & body, sleep in a shower cap & then shower the stuff off in the morning & reapply other stuff (minus the scalp stuff). The photo therapy did help significantly.
I still have it (incurable & genetic) and I am on a constantly changing regimen of injections, prescriptions, etc. to get it under control...and now I have the associated arthritis too. Let's just say I am always in pain but I look pretty "normal" clothed so it could be worse.
I shower every weekday. If we have a lazy Saturday morning, I typically put off the Saturday shower until late afternoon and then call it good for Sunday.
I seriously hate having to shower. I wish I could magically stay clean with good hair and no effort on my part.
Yes to your 2nd paragraph! I feel like by taking a shower I'm committing to taking forever to get ready. Because when I shower I have to blow dry my hair. And if I blow dry my hair, I have to straighten it. And then makeup. Ugh.
I'm so jealous of my H who can shower and be out the door in 15 minutes, if needed.

I shower every other day. I work at home and the school has a car drop off/pick up line. Unless we have evening plans on a week day no one really sees me. On my shower days I take a shower on my lunch break. I am not a quick showerer since I always shave and wash my hair.
I think this is a cultural thing. My sister's fiance is Middle Eastern and gives her a hard time for not showering every day.
I didn't want to bring this up. Friends and family think I've turned into a dirty person because I only shower once a day now. Morning and night showers are the norm where I'm from.
So is it a thing in places with super hot climates?

I occasionally skip. Now that I'm pregnant and my workouts aren't nearly as intense which was my driving factor before. I WFH and sometimes the day just gets too busy to shower. I wash my hair every 4-5 days now.

Yes. Nobody has ac in their houses except well off people and even then it is just in the bedrooms. I don't know anyone with central ac even the uber rich. You have to shower often to be comfortable- 3 times a day is not unheard of.
But what about water costs ? I feel like I was brought up to conserve water. My parents were brought up sharing bath water through the family.

We are a water scarce country and in times when the water was turned off you wouldn't go to work if you couldn't shower or wash up at least. But wheb the water is flowing several baths a day is the norm. Also I don't think you have a good idea of how hot it is. When you get out of the shower if you move too fast you begin sweating as you get dressed.
North Americans and Europeans are known to bathe less than we do. My father still tells the story of how a good looking girl from the UK took a ferry ride down the islands and wore the same clothes for 4 days. All of the young men who were interested at the start of the trip were turned off by the journey's end.
I shower most days - probably 27-28 out of a month, but don't wash my hair every time. I think it depends on your personal stink/grease production. We are not equally stinky individuals!
