I'm wondering if anyone has a Virtuoso travel agent they could recommend? I'm planning a trip to Australia and at the very least, I'd like help booking a Sydney hotel (Most likely Four Seasons or maybe Intercontinental or Shangri-La). I'd love to find someone who would also offer a little input on our itinerary andy maybe suggest a day tour or two.
I've been in contact with someone who looked good on the Virtouso website but I'm getting the feeling that our needs might be a little too 'small potatoes' for him.

I'm surprised to hear that, @sfgal530 . I'd think that booking a couple of hotels and a tour or two (that I do see offered on virtuoso's website) would be worth 5-10 mins of discussing a rough itinerary. I don't need detailed help, because I like planning on my own, and as you mention, I can always post here for suggestions, too.
I'd honestly be okay just sending a list of hotels/tours I'd like booked with very little discussion. Seems like easy money for them to me.
I don't have an AmEx, but it looks like some of the properties I am interested in are available through Visa Signature with similar benefits - so maybe I'll go that route if Virtuoso doesn't pan out.
You can book Virtuoso rates online through classictravel.com. It's the only site I know of that you can. I haven't ever actually used it, but my friend does and has never had any issues.
Try O u r is man Travel. Highly recommended on Flyertalk and they got us fantastic upgrades on a Hawaii trip. I've only used them for hotel bookings, but perhaps they'll give a bit of advice/help book a tour or two. At the very least, ask your agent and let them say no.
Classictravel.com is an online booking site that will quote Virtuoso rates, but I don't know how their prices compare to other Virtuoso agents. Also, unless things have changed, for Four Seasons you'll get a lot more from a FSPP agent than just plain Virtuoso (and both of those types of agents put you higher on the upgrade list etc. than the Amex Platinum folks so I'd at least try to see if you can get an agent to work with you rather than relying on any credit card perks).
