Short week for me.
Realized I have stopped getting school update emails. It's spirit week but I have no clue what the theme is each day. Stbx told me today is pajama day. I'm calling the school this morning.
When are y'all getting divorced cuddlyevil? I thought that already happened?
My guy that I was interested in turned out to be a complete psychotic. No worries though, I have a date with someone new tomorrow night and so far, I like him a lot so fingers crossed. He's also a ginger, which I promised myself I'd stay far away from. Oh well, you can't fight city hall.

And it's a short week for me too, cuddlyevil! WOOT!
I can't wait to go to Boston this week.
And? I have to share here. I've been getting more advanced with my riding and I told my instructor this weekend that I noticed his right lead canter was smoother than his left (i.e. he goes better when he is going right) and she said she was impressed I could feel that and that I'm making progress that I'm picking up on those nuances.
Um, chalupa? Didn't I see a first place ribbon on Larry's bridle?
Yes. Thankfully, my trainer suggested that Larry and I do an extra dressage test in the morning, before the combined test started. We were the only entrants in the intro-level dressage, so we handily won that class, haha. No ribbon for us in the CT (one combined score for dressage + jumping), though. We were eliminated on the jump course when Larry had a meltdown about a scary stone wall.
I also took advantage of Target's Halloween candy sale last week. My house is filled with Halloween candy.
~It's the most wonderful time of the year~
When I stock up with Halloween candy, I end up gaining weight, and still need to run out the actual day of ToT to restock Now I've learned to just wait until the day of to buy candy, because apparently I have zero self control.
As long as the bags remain unopened, I'll be okay in the self control department.
We do a lot of business on Halloween, especially when the weather is nice. I think we're getting a reputation again, lol.
I miss horseback riding. I never got close to what you ladies do, but I still miss it.
I have a date tonight. The guy seems a bit overeager and its hard to tell if that's why he's coming across a little weird or if he's weird. He seemed grumpy about the plans I have with friends every week and said that he hopes if I'm in a relationship my schedule would relax a little bit. I'm giving it a shot since this just came out last night when talking to try to schedule a date. But I'm a bit wary going in.
LOL. No - full blown meltdown. The stone wall was jump #6 on our course. To get from Jump #1 to #2, you had to go outside of the stone wall (between the jump and the rail). I had to negotiate and circle to even get him past the wall, then he was so worked up for the rest of the course that he was crooked the whole way around and refused a tiny little crossrail that should have been absolutely no big deal, except that it was painted a very high-contrast black and white stripe. And of course he refused again when it was time to jump #6, although he DID go over it, eventually.
BUT, I had the best jumper in the warm up ring, LOL. Other horses were refusing the warm up jumps left and right, and Larry just sailed over the jumps 2 divisions higher in height (I had him entered in the 12" intro division, and he jumped a 2'3 oxer in the warm up ring ). Le sigh. In reality, I am not surprised - he has had a whopping total of 6 weeks of exposure to jumps in his entire life. There are going to be things that scare him for months/years to come. I am proud of him for making it over every jump, even the scary stone wall. Once he decides he is going over a fence, he is an absolutely beautiful and careful jumper. And the crowd loved him, too - after the "Oh hell no, not going past THAT thing" moment, they cheered for him at every jump. He pricked his ears up and was totally eating up all the attention and applause. I wish M had captured how he pranced his way out of the ring while the whole bleachers clapped for him, swishing his tail while he sashayed out of there. Someone from another barn told me he deserved a Ms Congeniality award, LOL.
Bwahahahaha! That's awesome.
And? It is also awesome that he eventually went over everything. That should mean with some mileage and training, he will eventually go over everything easy-peasy! There is a pony at my barn that is a gorgeous mover and jumper...but even with a ton of training, he still refuses jumps left and right. I'd rather have a spooky, green horse than one with training who still refuses.

Oh me too! Larry just needs more mileage. I'm going to have to build "scary" jumps for training at home, and really - this was his second show. Getting on a trailer, getting off at a new ring full of strange horses, and seeing a ring of unfamiliar jumps will all get easier for him in time.
I do wish it wasn't fall already - my favorite was to make jumps scarier is to attach pool noodles to the standards so that they will wave around in a breeze. Don't think I can find those at the dollar store anymore, though
I forgot how discouraging match can be. I think I've only received one response to an email I've sent, but plenty of those guys look at my profile so I know they've read it. I forgot how it can make me feel like I'm doing something wrong.
doglove try not to get discouraged yet. Easier said than done, I know.

Switched attorney's (original one wouldn't do a payment plan after ex decided he couldn't afford to split costs), new attorney should be paid off this month--I don't have time for a second job or a job where I can pick up OT, so it took longer to pull the money together. Filed and done by Thanksgiving
I'm sorry he turned out to be a whackjob. Good luck with the ginger! There was a cute ginger at the music festival and I thought of you
No, it's just my jaded way of saying they're few and far between. #gonnagetmorecats
Haha! OF COURSE he isn't normal....but then again, neither am I
And yes, I will agree with you that there are far more crazies than normal ones. But my point is that the normal ones *do* exist.
Logically, I know this...the heart is struggling a bit today. Hung out with J (with a group of my friends) on Saturday and it's always fun/easy but not the right fit. And I put myself out there with another guy and it fell sort of flat.

Hugs, lady!
You are gorgeous, funny, smart and kind. You are a rare breed and therefore it is going to take an equally special guy to see and appreciate that.
