DD is asleep and I'm awake. I'm going to regret this tomorrow. She took 1.5 hours to go down, so she's only been asleep for two hours. I know it's because the travel messed with her "schedule", such as it is.
I'm awake and not tired so I'm eating PBJ and watching Wet Hot Anerican Summer the series. Then I'll pump. I skip the MOTN pump a lot because my yield sucks but today was a crappy pumping day so u need another session.

DS went down drowsy, but awake for the first time ever last night, which was great, but now he's up less than three hours later. And now he fell asleep on the boob after nursing for like one minute, so he'll probably wake up hungry again. So it appears we're headed for another night of crap sleep.
I don't know what is up with my supply lately. It will be ok for a day, then take a huge dip. Sunday it was great, yesterday it was low again. I think it's contributing to the shitty sleep.

I'm nursing DD right now and hopefully we are both going to sleep for the night and will get a semi decent first stretch (aiming for 3 hours).
I think I need to have a semi CTJ talk with DH later this week. I know he's working full time and going to school part time, but he's been super crabby lately and complaining about being tired. Um, you get to starfish the bed and get at least 6 uninterrupted hours of sleep every night whole I'm camped out in a twin bed in the nursery with DD. He's been great with the boys and basically does 100% of parenting for them when he's home, but just seems short and checked out with me and DD.
I know the newborn phase sucks and all and we both can't wait to move past it. But at least put a little fake effort into our marriage now.

Up. E is being lazy at latching since we had to supplement in the hospital and she gets so frustrated waiting for a let down. The last thing I want at 1 am is to fight a screaming baby to latch correctly and stay there until the milk comes. I've been expressing so it's mostly there when she gets there but she is still frustrated.
I'm up, DD has decided she likes the pop on and off before latching which is fun. We started to use some ocean sound white noise and it seems to be helping. We also haven't been swaddling her arms since she doesn't like that, are we making a mistake? Should we be doing the full swaddle even though she seems to hate it?

I swaddle DS arms out because he HATES his arms confined and he is fine. He usually sleeps in 3 hour stretches at night. I was kind of anticipating him hating to be swaddled because DS1 hated it too. Both my boys sleep just like DH--arms above their heads, loud, constantly moving. I just hope DS2 also sleeps as hard as they both do!

DD sleeps arms up also. She does 3 hour stretches most of the time which seems good for almost 2 weeks:)
I'm up on wake up #2. I don't feel as full of milk tonight, but he seems satisfied so I'm trying not to worry. I will just drink a lot of water and eat oatmeal to make myself feel better in the morning.
We are up again:) Took a little effort to get her latched but she's on there now. It's so weird how sometimes even when she's hungry she spits out to boob repeatedly for s but. Then she realizes, oh right I want this!

Does she hate it as she's being swaddled or after?
DD made it until 4:30! Much better. Now standing in the kitchen with my hand pump for the other side. I think I'm going to have a banana while I'm down here. I hope I can fall back to sleep. Last night I was pretty much up for the day at 4:00.

We had wake up #1 at 1am, so about a 3 hour stretch. I tried putting her back down around 130, but she just wouldn't settle. So it's now 230 and I did a diaper change, reswaddle and nursing the other side. I'll admit that I think I dozed off between 1-130 when she was nursing earlier. So I'm not sure how well she ate or what.

DD was fine without swaddling, sleeping in 3 hour stretches for about 3 week. Then she started really fighting sleep and not going down as easily and waking up more often. So I started swaddling a couple days before she turned a month old and it's helped soooo much.
So just because you aren't swaddling now doesn't mean you can't start later if you need to. Just go with what works for now and you can always change it up if it stops working.

If she hates it, I wouldn't push the issue. If she stays a swaddle hater, it's one less thing to transition out of later.

Wake up #2. It took a bit to get her back down and I was worried we might be up for the day, but she seems to have settled. I don't want to jinx it, but this is her best night of sleep in three weeks.

She actually doesn't fight it much while we do it more once it's done she's very WTF where are my hands?!
