Is this something to worry about?

DS has eczema off and on, but this rash has me a little concerned. It's just in this one spot (picture below), not anywhere else, and he has no other symptoms. He also doesn't complain about it hurting. I'm putting some antibiotic cream that he has from the last time he had a breakout on it and it's slightly less red than it was yesterday. I'm just concerned that maybe it's something else and he's contagious. We're going to visit my newborn niece next week so I want to make sure we're not exposing her to something. I have an email in to his pedi, but she's out of the office until 12/14, so there will be a slight delay in someone getting back to me. Does this look like anything other than just a run of the mill eczema patch?
