What kind of shoes do you wear to Crossfit workouts? In the past I've always just worn my running shoes (Asics GT-2170s), but I get the feeling that as I get more serious about the lifting I should get something more lifting-appropriate.

Ditto wambam except I have Nano 4.0s. I did CF for over a year before getting something other than running shoes, so you can definitely stick with what you've got, but you're right that if you want to get more serious having the right gear helps.

Inov-8s for training, Adidas Adistar lifters or Nike Romaleos for lifting. If there is high volume lifting in a WOD I have no problem wearing the Inov-8s. A lot of our clients will lift barefoot for squats/deadlifts/etc.
I like the look of them for sure. Well, I don't like Brooke's all-white ones, but the overall shape I like, and the black with pink and camo are sweet.
I won't let myself try on Metcons. I (luckily) didn't like how the Nano 5.0s fit when I tried them on because I do think they're pretty, and I'm sure I would have talked myself into unnecessarily buying them.
Thanks everyone, it looks like I've got a couple of options and I'll try to find them to try on. Do any of you have wide feet? I wear D-width running shoes, so I often buy men's shoes instead of women's because 9.5 men's is usually 11D women's. Hopefully I can do the same with these, since 11D is not an easy size to find.

I have super wide feet too (and wear a 10 or 11)-The Nano's have a wider toe space than most shoes I've tried, for sure. I wear Inov-8s honestly because the local shoe store supplies us with them for free to promote business... but in the Inov-8 I had to go to a non-typical CrossFit model to get more toe space. I tried 2 other pairs before I found a women's that fit me.
On the Inov8 website, they have graphics on the right side that show which shoes have the wider toe bed:

I'll second stackingtens. Nano's definitely have a wider toe space. I can't wear them and get them laced tight enough.
Just realized you prob didn't recognize my username... haha. Itbecame a team name for an in-house comp after I was too lazy to reload my bar so I just kept adding 10s.
