Omfg, we have fleas. Kill me, please. One of the cats has them, and the cats don't even GO OUTSIDE. AND EVERY PET IN THIS HOUSE IS ON PREVENTATIVE. Now we have to figure out how to treat the whole damn house. I hate everything.

@vicmo that's so scary! Glad you were there.
niq, I think six cycles is when things start to get really frustrating. You're allowed to be frustrated even when others have a harder time.
I'm about to go to bed so I can get some sleep before DD's first wake up. I'm kind of annoyed with DW who keeps offering me "helpful suggestions" on things like bottle feeding and how to get the baby down at night. Uh, she just nurses her to sleep, which I can't do. And I'm home with DD all day and obviously know much more about getting her to take a bottle. DW is turning out to be kind of bossy and controlling as a coparent, which is kind of out of character for her.

we had good luck last year with this www.amazon.com/Diatomaceous-Earth-Food-Grade-10/dp/B00025H2PY It is a powder and I just sprinkled it in my dogs fur and around the main living areas of the house. We stayed out of those areas as best as we could for 2 days then I vacuumed it all up. I kept the dog powdered up for a while and they were suddenly gone.
It's kind of amazing how much newborn stage info I have forgotten. Things like "how to space out feedings" or "do I nurse at every MOTN wakeup" don't seem like things one would forget.

Well I feel like I remember these ones.
Many babies are unresponsive to spacing out feedings. I just fed her when she wanted to eat which was every 1.5-2.5 hours during the day until she was one. When she was wee and going through growth spurts she was on the boob like 90% of the day. Ugh.
I nursed at every MOTN wakeup until I night weaned at 11 months but then again I have a HORRIBLE SLEEPER so maybe you don't want to be like me.
Ds2 (like his brother) wants to eat every hour. I think it might be because I have a forceful letdown and they fill up on foremilk. It's snnoying though.
I nursed DS2 at every night waking until we night weaned at 13 months and he was a crap sleeper. I don't mind night feeds but when he wakes up hourly and then doesn't stay alwake for at least 10 minutes of nursing I think he's not actually hungry and its for comfort. I think ds1 got used to me doing that and it contributed to his sleep issues.

namasteak, DD eats every night wakeup. I'm not sure if we should still be doing that, but I do know at your DS's age DD was co sleeping with the boob in her mouth the whole night. Obviously it was mostly for comfort, but for us it was survival.

do you co sleep? If you do I feel like it will be hard to move away from nursing MOTN early on.
Ds2 is in the swing next to the bed.
I don't mind MOTN feeds it's the comfort sucking that gets me. This sounds awful but I'm feeling so touched out by the end of the day I don't want unnecessary touching at night.

That was how it was with Ds1 so I'm trying to prepare myself for that again. He's still so little I'm not even thinking of night weaning but I don't want to create a bad habit. Which sounds crazy because at this age I'm not sure that is even possible.
I remember getting anxious at night when DS1 was a newborn too. Hormone fluctuation maybe?
Enough whining from me! I bought myself a dream blanket for my birthday and I can't wait for it to arrive! Our bedroom is in decorated so I don't even care that it won't match.

For us it lasted from about 1.5 weeks to 4.5 weeks. Then one day she was like "it's cool, put me in the RNP". So I don't think we created bad habits per se, but she is a crap sleeper and I'm not sure if feeding at every wakeup is contributing. Right now she seems hungry at night.
The pedi also said some babies just spike a brief high fever any time they get a minor virus. Anyone have one of those babies?
DD was and still is one of these. It suuuucks. She gets one tiny sniffle and her temp goes up to 101/102. When she's "truly" sick (strep or something), then it's in the 103-104 range. When she was younger, she used to get 105 or 106 fevers, especially after vaccination shots.
Meanwhile, DS gets a 99 temp, I think "NBD," and it turns out to be a double ear-infection in one case and some virus in another case that caused massive dehydration. He just doesn't run high fevers like DD does.
OMG! I just accidentally did a reply all to an email about DS1's class field trip asking his teacher if as a chaperone I would be able to take a break to pump halfway through since it's the first time I'm leaving DD for so long!!!!
I've decided not to quit pumping after all. I'm too damn stubborn. I do, however, have H on a mission while I'm gone to get P to hopefully take straight formula in bottles so I can stress less.
I'm laying in an amazing king bed in Vegas all by myself in silence.
I should probably go explore and be touristy but NOBODY IS TOUCHING ME and it's quiet and OMG.
I'll be in Vegas for a conference in December and I plan to spend every moment that I'm not working either in my hotel room or grabbing a quiet dinner in solitude. So, I say you're doing Vegas just right.
holly116 should I go to the aquarium or the zoo tomorrow? Never been to the aquarium - worth the money? My mom will be helping me if I go into labor hahaha.
Well, the aquarium is like a one hour, tops, activity. And it's expensive if you don't just get the annual pass. So normally, I'd suggest the zoo. However, J is at an age where she will probably love it, it's a fantastic maternity leave activity, and it's going to be kind of chilly today to be walking all around the zoo. And he zoo is really pretty hilly, are you up for that lol?
Plus, Tom & Chee. There's a Tom & Chee right outside of the aquarium. . We had a pass one year while I was pregnant with my second. I've been thinking it may be time to get it again since the boys haven't been at all.
