I've lost the Apple TV remote. Like really lost it this time. I turned the whole house inside out, and I can't find it. Curse you Apple for making everything so sleek and slim and small. We actually can't watch TV at all without it, that's the only TV we have. Stuck inside all weekend because of the rain with no TV. Kill me now.
They have an apple tv remote control app for phones. At least for iphones.

I can never get motivation on Fridays. I did do a load of laundry and empty the dishwasher this morning before work but have done nothing here except shop on Gymbo. Tell me I don't need a moose sweater for Christmas, especially because I can't get free shipping. Maybe I'll head to the mall before daycare pickup and see if I can get it there cheaper first.
Against my better judgement, I posted a gun-control post on fb. And of course the usual right-wing nutters (including my BFF's dad, awkward!) are arguing with me. I'll never learn!

Also, my DH is on vacation in San Francisco and although I had the opportunity to go with, I am home and bitter about it. I've never been to California! I want to see the Golden Gate bridge! At least this morning he sent me a text that said he wishes I had went with and that he misses his travel buddy. That was nice.
I feel bad laughing h but definitely hope it turns around for you today!
Don't feel bad! I laughed. What else can you do? After I lost it and made my kids feel bad, I told them I was sorry and that sometimes when stuff like this happens, all you can do is laugh about it. And that we all make mistakes and have days that don't go our way. Hoping maybe they get a learning moment and/or funny childhood memory to offset having to spend the day feeling sticky/smelling like pee/wearing two left shoes.
I have a tomato problem. I looooove home-grown fresh tomatoes. Except, apparently when I'm in the first trimester and the texture and acidity make me want to gag. I have about 5lbs of tomatoes that I need to process today and I'm not sure I can do it.
If you have cherry tomatoes, feel free to pass them off to me.
Tonight I'm taking myself out for dinner and a show though! I can't decide what to see though. I think I will do a Cirque show because H has no interest in going to one so I might as well do it solo.
Do you think I could take DD (3.5m) with me and have her sit on my lap while I get a pedicure? I'm concerned this might a) be a horrible breach of nail salon etiquette and b) the fumes. But damn I want a pedicure.
I don't know about the fumes, but we brought my niece a couple weeks ago, and my bff's daughter a month before that, and it was NBD. The time with my BFF's daughter, the salon was packed but she was just happy to sit on our laps, and the nail techs loved having her there.
The drainage around our apartment blows. The gutters are overflowing right at our front door and there's a huge puddle in front of our windows. I'm hoping the water doesn't come in and damage stuff.
And they are so slow with service requests. Of course they aren't going to clean the gutters now b/c it's supposed to rain all weekend. They're going to be even happier if something happens this weekend and they are repairing our apartment because of their shitty upkeep.
Semi confession....I don't need texts of the latest milestone my niece is having. She's cruising at 10mo...yes that's great but it's just normal. You guys live 15min away and have turned down the last 4+ invitations to our house. We are never invited there & we can't comfortably go there because of your hundreds of pets. I care a lot more to actually know her (& my girls would have also liked that) than act like we are thousands of miles away. She's 10mo, 8 of those no one (neither BIL nor SIL) has worked & we've seen her 5 times.
We have potlucks at my school monthly. Everyone brings in amazing food. It's incredible. Today is one of those days and am I so looking forward to lunch!!
We have a very special visitor at my school today. She's semi-famous and the kids have loved her. She went to this elementary school as a child so that's why she's back to visit us today. I know I'm being vague but if I told you who it was you could easily look up information about her and know what school I teach at. So I can't say but it's pretty cool and that combined with the potluck and DH coming home tonight makes it a pretty good day!

Our anniversary was yesterday, and H bought me a card that was clearly meant to send to friends/acquaintances who are celebrating an anniversary. In his defense, a) he's been ordering cards online because it's difficult for him to pick one out in person (he's legally blind, so he has to bring a magnifier, and it's a whole thing), b) I am 100% sure he picked it out because of the picture on the front, and c) he did write a sweet note inside. But the text reads something like "wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness." I thought it was hilarious and didn't say a word because he'd feel bad about it if he realized, but if anyone else ever read it they would totally make the baroo face at him, heh.
I am so. happy. it's Friday. My inlaws are babysitting tomorrow night so we can go to dinner, but because they aren't comfortable putting the baby to bed, we're going at 5:30. Early bird special FTW!

Damn it, the service engine soon light is on in DH's car & he's having trouble starting it. The repair shop can't look at it until Monday. Fingers crossed that it is a cheap fix, I really don't want to deal with replacing a car while he's unemployed.
I am watching Let's Make a Deal. This contestant just gave a shout-out to her three sons -- Sebastian (fine), Bartleby (...that's unusual) and Peregrine (.....WTF?).
Huh, those are unusual, but I bet they are religious. Peregrine is the name of a saint. The patron saint of cancer. It sure is a mouthful though.
Oh that's interesting, thanks for sharing! I am not religious so I had no idea.
For some reason when I hear "peregrine" I think it is a shade of purple.
Last night I got my first fb message from a MLM fitness person. Who I haven't seen or spoken to in like 5 years. Yep, not interested in joining your "support group" lady.
And, my kid just woke up after only napping for a half hour. GO TO SLEEP!

You know what's not fun? Waiting for an hour for a gyn appointment. With nothing but an open-in-the-front style gown and socks on. While you have a 20 month old with you in the tiny room. OMG, longest wait of my life. The dr was at the hospital with a delivery, so I totally understand the wait. But why not tell me that before making me get undressed?? I would have happily stayed in the waiting room, which has a great kids area for DD to play with, rather than try to keep her content and not eating the IUD display all while trying to stay covered up!
So I was going stir crazy and decided to run a few errands and then take the boys to McDonald's for lunch and to play. DS2 downed a yogurt and then promptly had a weird texture reaction to a bite of chicken nugget. Cue fountain of vomit.
So, yeah. I quit today. My house is destroyed, my husband is a few days post op so zero help and in the negative column since he's all hopped up on pain killers, I started my period, my kids are on my last nerve, and I'm operating on a sleep deficit. And there's really no end in sight. My dad is out of town and I reaaaally don't want my mil back down here. Here's hoping that DH turns a corner soon. I'm going to go to bed right with the kids later.
spk926 I'm dying to know who is visiting your school!
I woke up this morning and my cleavage was super red, like I had been scratching it in the night (which is probably true). Now I look down and I see all sorts of little reddish-purpleish dots. Not raised, more like red/purple freckles. I asked about this once before to ensure I wasn't dying, but now there are LOTS of them. Hm...

PIP?
Legit LOL because I seriously considered including one with the post, but couldn't get a picture that really did it justice. Hahaha.

It could be petechia from the scratching.
I just went through E's pants for this fall/winter and even though she has plenty of bottoms I didn't buy her any black leggings. She wears though quite a bit, so I need to get probably 2 pairs.
OMG. I am SO BORED at work. I left early the past two days due to not feeling well. I don't know how long I can sit here and be bored today.
Seriously. I think I am going to just leave for an hour. No one will notice/care, lol.
I was running errands on lunch and even prolonged that as long as possible. I was like...isn't there something else I "need" to do...?
I'm really regretting not calling in sick and/or working from home today. At least then I could monitor emails and browse the internet (what I am basically doing here...) while watching Netflix and doing laundry.
I've been trying to work on C's 1st year book in Shutterfly since I'm so bored, but I'm having issues with my browser crashing. I'm not being a good employee at all.
Aj is sacked out in bed after a morning at the pool, playing at the indoor playground, and lunch. So far I've watched last night's Grey's and am halfway through Scandal...I love nap time.
