I may well see epphd IRL today, and I'm pretty psyched about that.
Also, my friend wrote a romance novel. She got an agent and a publisher, and it's coming out soon... And reviewers are starting to take notice. So cool!

A new bakery opened up in my neighborhood this week. I flew out of bed and into some clothes this morning to go buy breakfast treats. Bets on whether I manage that tomorrow when my morning activity is a hike.
We have guys outside working on building a patio, firepit, etc. My dog goes from huge barking fits to extreme whine screaming.(Trust: it's a thing) I keep threatening to pen him up, & just need to do it.
We were supposed to have a family photo this afternoon, but it's been delayed due to weather. (It's to be outside on my parents' family farm.) That has meant my lazy morning has turned into a lazy early afternoon. I'll get in the shower in a second!!!

I'll be studying for a test, since it's going to be raining all day. I've got provisions for me and DH, but forgot we're low on dog food, so I may have to venture out and get some.
Maxx is ready for the rain though. (I don't know how to make them not be sideways)
I've got brisket marinating for tomorrow's dinner, cinnamon rolls in the oven for H to have before he goes to work, I've been to spin class and to the farmer's market.
I have GOT to get some homework done today and tomorrow. HAVE TO. StrawberryBlondie, I hope you're waiting with bated breath. Just don't hold it.

Just got done explaining to H why saying that Steel Magnolias appeals more to women than men is annoying and a little offensive. It has apparently escaped his attention that shows where men are primarily the protagonists are for both men and women, but stories with female protagonists are just for girls. He's still not buying it, and arguing that all he was saying was that there are some things that are marketed towards different demographics, and that not everyone likes the same things. I'm sitting here banging my head on my desk. Sometimes my feminist husband is remarkably shortsighted.

Suggestions on how to make a Cyborg (Teen Titans) hat for H are welcome. I'm thinking starting work a blue beanie, but I'm stuck on the part where there's head showing.

I climbed the Space Needle which was super fun, but I'm bummed I didn't get see mominatrix since our start times were different. Boo! But on the plus side it was a gorgeous day and we are loving our new car

It is a beautiful day.
My H is currently climbing the Space Needle. I'm watching our kids and three others. It was not arranged ahead of time to do this, I'm just a sucker who can't say no.
I posted on fb that it was Oct 3rd in case anyone was going to ask and my mom commented "thanks for the update....." A whole bunch of other people have liked the status (you know, the ones who actually get it) and I just wonder how confused she is.
WHY do DH and I stay up so late when we KNOW we'll be dragging ass the next day? When will we learn?!?
Answer: never
This is me. I never learn. Probably never will.
I've been sitting around in pjs all day. It's cold and dreary out, I ordered wings and cheesy bread for brunch, I'm trying to figure out how to talk H into going to get me cider for the game at 3:30, and I have no intention of leaving my house or getting dressed today. Adulting at its finest.

We did lowlights in a chestnut color, but then she went thru the first inch or so of my roots around my face with a demi permanent color. Buh-bye grey wispies!
I left the house to drop my car off at the shop and get supplies for breakfast and mimosas and have been a lazy sack ever since. I was thinking about maybe going for a run, but will probably just keep this lazy situation happening.
We made an offer on a house last week and the seller was completely unwilling to negotiate, so we withdrew it. Dude, your house has been on the market for 5 months and you've had no offers except ours. So good luck with that.
We're looking at another house that is stunning on the outside but on the inside, you'd swear it's still 1988. It would require a lot of cosmetic work like replacing trim (there's old pine trim EVERYWHERE), repainting and removing American flag-themed wallpaper and borders (I told you, 1988), replacing carpet, taking the paneling off the basement walls. The one major renovation it would need is redoing the master bath - it would need a wall torn down and needs to be completely redone. So that one would be $$$. But the house itself is absolutely gorgeous, the size and layout are just what we want, and it could definitely be our dream home.
Any advice? Do it, don't do it? H is excited about the idea of doing all these projects. I'm excited too, but I'm also wary of the time and cost involved. One one hand, I love the idea of working on it over time and making it exactly what we want, but on the other hand, the idea of walking into a house that needs no work is kind of appealing too...
I'm not sure I'd be up for tackling all of those projects, ttt, but that's me. My parents enjoyed remodeling, so they purposely bought a fixer-upper when I was a kid. It took 15 years for them to get to everything they wanted to change, but it was probably worth it in the end given the neighborhood they were able to afford on a fairly tight budget because they were willing to do that sort of work on a house.

Oops, I hit reply to the wrong post.
This is my suggestion for some me-time: Warm jacket, library book, beach blanket, lemonade, beach?

My motherfucking neck is on Day 6 of hurting. Thursday's massage helped, but I'm still in pain. Nobody I know has any good pain meds. And I'm at my ILs, where H and I have to share a small bed and use crappy pillows. Good thing Sober September is over because I need something to numb me.

None of that seems like too much... And it's better than something that's nice but not quite your taste...
My SIL is having a baby and my ovaries are itching like crazy! The baby shower is this evening. And hopefully my friend with the 2 month old will be there.
My first grader is having a terrible weekend. He shut the door on my head last night and kicked DH in the jaw this morning as part of a fit.
