I like the wood bench. Do you think it will hold up well with the moisture? I guess you could always replace it if it doesn't.

My sister has a great bench at the back of the shower, but it really is just a place to set a lot of bathing products, loofahs, and razors... it doesn't get used much except to place a leg on while shaving.

That being said, I think a stool is a great idea and you can always change out the look as you feel.

I've seen a lot with teak stools/benches online and a few with garden ceramic stools too (like below). So it allows you to be versatile when redecorating the bathroom.
