Is this chair actually comfortable? The cushion seems really thin in pictures.
I'm looking for a relatively inexpensive chair to complete C's big boy room. It would fill the space between the foot of his bed and the Kallax cube unit that will be toy and book storage. We read books in the glider in his nursery every night, but I'm going to keep that for the baby.
Option two is to save my money and read books in bed and keep the extra space wide open in the room.
We read books in the glider every night, but when we moved, we got rid of the glider and got the Poang, and DD moved into her twin bed. We've sat in the chair maybe twice to read. It's just not comfortable, and it's at an awkward angle so it doesn't really rock well (we bought the rocking one). We read in her bed every night instead. It's pretty much just a stuffed animal collector now. .
I like our poang, but I don't think I'd want to read to DS in it. The one we have is in our bedroom and I read in it sometimes. We have an upholstered glider in DS's room.
A regular (not rocking) poang is what I used for 3 kids. The angle of the back fits me just right and feels good. I also love the bounce motion of it. The cushions sometimes shift out of place and this is most annoying thing about it. But I've spent about a million hours in it nursing and always liked it for that. I don't like it much for reading because the arms don't contain the kid and poke their scrawny butts.
Oh, and gliders make me seasick, so that was never an option, lol.

I really like ours. We had no room for a glider in the apartment and we moved into our house when DD was 13 months, so it felt like a waste to buy a $$$ glider then. So we bought the non-rocking Poang and it's great for reading. I don't know if I would have liked it as much with a young baby though with MOTN wakings and all though.
We bought the rocking Poang to save money and space in DDs room. It's OK. It's not the most comfortable thing ever but I hate the look of most gliders and the only ones I do like are about $1500 so that wasn't happening!
Be have the bouncy (regular, non-rocking) poang and I haven't hated it enough to replace it yet We do have the leather cushion which I think is way more comfortable than the budget option cushion, but it was a hand me down from SIL, I wouldn't have splurged on the leather myself. We have used it for nursing from day one and now just use it for stories.
I would read books in bed for now and keep my eyes open for a good deal on a second hand chair.
