My other issue is that my freakish calves do NOT fit in boots. I'm not even sure I can find an extra large calf boot to work. I am going to measure myself and do some online boot hunting tonight. If that fails, I'll just do leggings, light sweaters and flats until it snows.
Do you have a Cato's store? They sell wide calf boots.

Try simply be for boots. They have lots of options for calf widths
As for what to wear with them: for my shape, I look best in dresses that are too short for me to wear on their own. So cinched in at the waist, and then flowing down.
Right now I'm wearing the ON striped tunic with a yellow scarf. To be honest, it's not the best look for me. But my butt is covered (which is hard for my size/height) and it was soooo comfy I went with it.
Yes, this thread needs pictures! If you have any cute fall outfits, please post (either the link or you in them!). I am running to Torrid at lunch. I love their black pants so hopefully I will have luck with their leggings too.
Ok, like I said, not the most flattering but sooooo comfy for a Monday morning I think it's helpful to see even unflattering pics on real bodies, so here I am.
I will try to dig up some photos from last fall/winter. I didn't have much luck finding tunics last year but hopefully this year I will find some good ones and feel more comfortable wearing them. I mostly wore mine with sweater dresses. I also got a couple of pairs of jeggings at Avenue and wore those with boots and then whatever tops I normally would wear.
I can't do boots, I carry most of my weight in my legs. Not good.
I love the Zella leggings. Most of my leggings are strictly for wearing around the house or working out, legs are not something I want to be showing off, but I would consider wearing these. They are supportive and comfortable.
I mostly wear darker wash jeans with some structure/weight to them (nothing too stretchy or thin, or low rise) - I have decent luck with Lane Bryant when they have sizes in stock. I've been loving ModCloth for some fun pieces, but find I do need to size up with them. I got this sweater from Modcloth - I'm obsessed, it looks good open and draped, and fits well zipped up www.modcloth.com/shop/sweaters/airport-greeting-cardigan-in-charcoal
If you can get a trial to Gwynnie Bee, I picked up some great tops over the year I was a member. I eventually quit because I wasn't loving the choices as much for spring/summer - but it's like Netflix for clothes, and if you love it, you can buy it at a reduced price. But it let me try some stuff I wouldn't normally pick up.
I also have some luck at Nordstrom Rack - though I went last week for the clearance event, and just found a lot of fug Vince Camuto stuff and really expensive Eileen Fisher tops. So I splurged on a new wallet and purse instead - they always fit
What do you think of this? I bought the blanket cardigan because it is the comfiest thing I have ever worn. Does it need to go back? Size 3 leggings at Torrid worked for me! I got cropped and full-length. So excited!
