We have an accepted contract on a new house! The foyer, living room and family room were just repainted a color (horribly) named diverse beige. It reads as grey with a sort of pink undertone? It's not what I probably would have picked but the several bathrooms and kitchen that need to be gutted come first. This is an internet picture that shows how it looks in the house.
Other rooms connected to rooms painted this color include a dining room off the foyer, a sunroom and kitchen/breakfast room. They all desperately need to be painted. I think I might do the dining room the same for now, but I'd like a different color for the sunroom and kitchen.
There is a lot of white woodwork/coved crown molding. The carpet and tile floors in the kitchen and sunroom are also white.
I'd repaint it a cream colour. I'm pretty obsessed with whites and creams since they make it so easy to redecorate with different colours and textures added to the room.
Our old house was painted a similar color and the kitchen was the color of the blue throw pillow... that probably doesn't help any since you hate the beige.
Anything will work. Open a pottery barn catalog and walla. Because that color is everywhere.
Oh, it's not the color I think is awful - though I wouldn't have chosen it because it really does have a pink undertone, which I don't love. It's the name. Diverse Beige? Uck.
It's the pink thing that is throwing me. It's not as neutral as it seems because of that. For example, here is the foyer. It's all painted diverse beige but it looks like two different colors because of how the light is hitting it. Sherwin Williams actually classifies it as orange and suggests all kinds of browns to go with it.
If you are okay with keeping the pink beige, which that color definitely is, then you need to stick with blues like the curtains and pillows in the picture you used. Greens will accentuate the pink undertone in it because it is a complementary color. Here is a link to an article on coordinating with a pink beige sofa, hopefully it will give you some ideas. But If you aren't a fan of the color, don't throw money at coordinating with it, just pick a better neutral. That blog has wonderful color advice.
Thank you! I actually love blue, so that works for me. So many other rooms need to be painted, I don't really want to mess with those for quite a while.

I have diverse beige in my kitchen. I don't find it pinky at all. My cabinets are white, counters quartz beige, backsplash is glass subway tile in a light aqua blue. I like the color and I wish I had done my open/adjoining family room the same color. I went a shade lighter there. We have dark brown leather furniture which all coordinates with the kitchen.
Thanks, orval. That's good to know! The dining room is straight out rose and I think that's not helping. Do you think I could do yellow near it or no? RamblingRose

All paint colors look different in different light. It's not Diverse Beige's fault.
My friend used these color cards when coordinating her paint. See if Sherwin Williams has one with this diverse beige. Basically all the colors on the card are the right shades and coordinate with each other. FWIW hers house looks really good and its all open with different colors on different walls. It all goes.

I don't think I would do yellow nearby. My dining room is a medium green (wallpaper) but there is only a doorway not open. That seems to be ok as well.
If I wasn't technically challenged, I would post a picture for you.
The house looks beautiful! I don't mind the color at all. Can I see more pics? Does your kitchen really need to be gutted? It all looks modern.
Oh yeah. I'm sure. The first picture isn't my house. The kitchen and bathrooms haven't been updated since 1983. They are...interesting. The lower level also has hot pink carpet! For your enjoyment:
