Oh! But last night I finally hauled out all my old Calvin and Hobbes books and started reading them to B. He was a little lukewarm about it at first, but after the first few strips he was giggling like a loon.

DD1 is super awesome- happy, easy, loves to sleep, chilled out.
I'm so nervous DD2 is going to be the opposite! I'm down to 4.5 weeks to EDD & I'm getting to the miserable part of pregnancy. My hips hurt & I'm always tired...bleh!

Any suggestions for where to buy plain navy sweatpants? I bought DD a few pairs from the Hanes website, and one pair already has a hole in a seam. That's her winter uniform so I'm sure we'll need a few pairs over the next few months.
Of course, the ones from hanes are only $4.99, so maybe I'll just learn to sew.
After weeks for horrible bed time fights and multiple wakings throughout the night, I think we might be coming to the end of the phase. We've had two nights of easier routines and better sleep. Not perfect but better. Here's what seems to be working:
1) I added a baby gate to the boys' doorway. They can knock it down but for some reason as long as it is up, and the door is open, they are happy wrestling on the floor in their room. 2) I let them wrestle until they passout. I'm done fighting that shit. 3) They only want to sleep on my pillows. Dude, have at it! I'll get another. 4) Thanks to the brilliant wawa BoyB is sleeping with pjs on backwards and can no longer access his diaper to remove it and throw it down the stairs.

I'm not going to lie. The fact that my kid is a good sleeper is what's making me really super hesitant to roll the dice on a second. I feel like we shouldn't mess with the good thing we've got going on here.
My H is insisting we buy the kid some sort of motorized vehicle for her bday or Christmas because she is "behind" because she couldn't drive the bumper cars or go carts at the amusement park. She's going to be 4. He's really worried about it. He is crazy.
tonight is the first girl scout meeting for LB! i am the co-leader and at the parent meeting, we asked the parents to attend two meetings this year, just for helping. i thought most people would just drop off their girl and leave for two hours. that's what i would do.
nope. 4 of the moms said they wanted to stay for every meeting. which means there might be 6 adults there for 8 girls.
helicopter moms FTW
Hope it went well! H is the den father for Hunter's cub scout group, and they had their first meeting tonight too. I don't know if it's a cub scout thing, or our pack rule, but a parent must stay with their child for all meetings, campouts, etc. They go camping next weekend, and Hunter is ecstatic about the archery and BB gun range. I am not thrilled with the idea of my 6 year old shooting a BB gun, but if he's going to learn, I'd rather it be with boy scouts.

I haven't looked for navy specifically, but I've seen plain grey ones at Target and Children's Place.
But thanks for finally finding me the sweats for A's elephant costume!

Nope. Riding a bike is the important skill right now. Are kids even allowed to drive bumper cars at 3-4? Seems like 6-7 or older would be more reasonable. Is he worried about driving ability? If so, he should sign her up for autocross at 14 (that's what my H plans to do with DD).

Carters has them up to size 8. The ones for girls have something on them but the ones for boys are plain. That's what my daughter wears for gym class. We're only 6 weeks into school but they look like they are holding up well.

As of late last night I officially got the nanny job. I'll have a 5 year old before and after school and two littles (2.5 and 9 months) during the day. I'm suddenly very nervous about it, even though I'm excited. I'm also ready to quit my other job, which will become weekend only, but I will stick it out for another few weeks for Christmas/cruise/furniture money.
