Shitty CW that's been on probation thought she was off probation when our boss got canned two weeks ago.
Interim manager and HR rep told her that they're having her probation review this Friday. CW responds that it's her 9/80 Friday off so she won't be in and asks to reschedule.
HR and manager refuse and say that's the only time and "it's in CW's best interest to be there."
1. What does this mean? 2. Would they actually make her come in on her day off to fire her?
See I would either, but I don't get what's so fucking important it has to happen at 3 pm on a Friday. What's wrong with Wednesday or Thursday or Monday of next week?
I don't know the answer but I can't imagine asking to reschedule my probation review. Hell I can't imagine thinking I was off probation unless someone said I was. Is she dumb enough to not be looking for a job because if anyone told me I was on probation that would be step one.

She took off last week to interview. Apparently got a job offer today, isn't tell our company so she can collect severance (we're doing layoffs this month) when she "turns down" the new position at our new location.

My company fired/reorganized at least once a year, and people were generally let go on Friday mornings.
Then again, my boss and I were fired on a Monday morning.
My CW's H was a Sr VP there, and he had to fire half his staff on a Wednesday, and that evening he got an email for an 8am meeting the next day, for his firing.
Also: 1. A bunch of managers have come up to me this week to tell me they know CW is a big problem and that I do excellent work.
2. One manager asked my interim manager if I could travel with her for a day next week and my manager responded that I'll be swamped next week but maybe the following week id be available.
She's going to be fired. Or at least she's going to have a performance improvement plan explained to her.
She's been on a performance review plan since June.
My h says she's probably getting fired. There's no need for HR to be there for a PIP review. But for someone getting fired, he would of course need to be there. He said it's weird that it's on her day off, but could be because less people are expected in the building. Do you know what the time line on the pip was? There had to be an expiration date pb that.

It's 60 days.
BUT that's 60 working days. So your 9/80 Friday's, sick days, holidays and vacation prolong it. CW has been taking vacation weeks or sick days left and right to drag this out.

OMG!!!! She's trying to drag out probation?! If they dont' just fire her, I'll be shocked. she is NOT proving her worth here, at all.

Is Friday the end of a pay period?
99% off people who get fired from my employer get fired on the Friday which ends the pay period. Makes it easier for accounting. :/
CW thinks they're giving her an offer to the new office and she's worried she won't have the start date at her new job by that time to tell them no.
It would be kind of nice to be this delusional. Life would worry me a lot less. And I'd probably have no need for a PIP to distract me either.
I might consider changing my day off to strategically place myself near the meeting with popcorn. She's going to be pissed when they break up with her first.
