Can it be altered or a replacement ordered in time?
My mom is looking into altering it. Her first suggestion was to lose five pounds. Unfortunately I can't lose five pounds in the rib cage. I specifically picked a dress that was loose around the waist and hips and ordered two to three sizes bigger and it still won't zip. Ugh. It took three months to get so I doubt a replacement is possible.

Oh no, that sucks. Is it a matching material but different style of dress BM gig? Any bridal stores with rack dresses that carry something in that material?
UnderProtest, and I wish I lived closer so I could help you out. I've gotten pretty inventive with getting dresses to fit.
I keep saying I'm going to smack the next person who plays the at least card. Yet my supervisor, CW, and DH remain unscathed. Would it be so hard to allow me the freedom to have a bad day without turning it into a competition?
We still haven't hung any of our artwork/prints/etc in our current house. We moved in here in late February (although most of our stuff didn't arrive until mid/late march).

irene adler and Pom The dress fits today!!!! Apparently I just have to put it on before I eat and never take it off. Oh and and have a winch to get the zipper up the side where all the material is gathered.
What are the chances it will still fit in three weeks? I had originally intended to eat my way through the south.

UnderProtest--Hooray that it fits! Another tip--put some beeswax on the zipper and melt it in with a hair drye to make it zip more easily. It can make a world of difference.
We have an 80s themed work event in two weeks, on my husband's birthday. I'm really bummed about having to go...but I am thrilled to plan an 80s costume. I'm planning on doing an 80s rocker or punk rocker costume, mainly so I can wear my Doc Martens (so what if they're more 90s). Most of my coworkers are going the bad prom/bridesmaid dress route, so I want to do something different.
I'm thinking some leopard or zebra leggings, and a black top I have with fishnet sleeves. Still somewhat work appropriate but comfy since it's an all-day event (like 7am-10pm). The 80s portion is just the dinner, so I'll be in regular business clothes most of the day.
I don't know how to rat my hair so I might get an 80s wig. Not sure about that yet...

I'm ready to smack one of the grad students in the next office over. She's supposed to be finishing her dissertation, constantly complains about not having enough time to finish it but she's been talking very loudly all freaking morning.

BFF's shower is Sunday and I feel totally unprepared. I have a ton of things to buy and make. I am worried that the activities I have planned won't be as fun as I think (adult coloring-inspired cake decorating/coloring and haikus about the couple).
wannabe made these AMAZING cookies. I know at least that will go over well!
How is it possible that amazon sells some kindle books for more than the printed version of that same book?!
the eBooks have an agency pricing model, where the publisher gets to set the price and gets X% of the revenue and Amazon keeps the rest (I think X is 70 according to published reports). But the books can come from anywhere, so Amazon can source them for cheaper sometimes. Also third party sellers looking to clear inventory etc.

Those are amazing! Almost too pretty to eat!
I was wondering how the shower went, but I didn't want to come across as a creeper/stalker. I am sure it will be a great time!
I've found the yellow delicious to be less of a misnomer. I almost always find RD's mealy.
That said we're working our way through about 2 dozen apples (8 different varieties) from the local orchard to try to figure out which ones we like best - so I can buy a bushel of next year. Red D is one of them, but doesn't look like anything I've ever seen in a store.
I am a huge fan of honey crisp apples. As a wee one, I liked granny smith but now I have to been in a mood for them.

Oh no, I can't believe it doesn't fit! I would be so pissed to forgo all the food I've been looking forward to though. Does any of the other bridesmaids maybe have a dress that's too large that you could swap with? Not ideal, I know, but think of the food!
It's so stupid because it didnt fit in the rib cage. I specifically ordered one that wasn't fitted on the stomach or thighs. All of the other bridesmaids got to try their dresses on so no one would trade with me. Plus the only one I know is a size zero so my fat size four would never fit in her dress.
I've been such a bitch today! I don't even care. I just wish everyone would do things my way. I have so many systems. I know what's best for everyone, gosh.
That Airbus picture is horrible. That might be worse than Greyhound and I am sure I have mentioned what hell that was.
