I did double unders for the first time today! I was never able to do them when I did CrossFit before (I could barely do singles), but today it just clicked and I did several!
Congratulations! <Can you explain what a double under is?>
Jumping rope and the rope goes under your feet two times for every one jump. It's not physically the most demanding thing, but getting the timing down is quite the feat!

Whoa that's crazy. I never knew what it was and just assumed it was a weight lift.

LOL.
It took me about 2.5 years before I had DUs with any kind of consistency. Other people pick it up really fast. I was just not other people.
Congrats! I can get them in strings of 10-15, but have been stuck there for awhile. Any time I do DU practice, I leave the gym looking like someone beat my legs with a whip, lol. Getting the timing down is really tricky

I somehow hit the backs of my arms. Don't ask - I don't even know.
This is NOT a silly AW. Getting them takes time. The good news is that once you have them, they are kind of like riding a bike. It just stays with you.

My friend managed to hit his knuckles and have them really swell up last time. It's a mystery as to how!
The WOD Flight Simulator marked a turning point in my DUs. You have to do 5 unbroken, then 10, then 15, up to 50 and back down to 5. You can't just keep going, you must stop after 5 and then start on your 10. And if you break, you have to keep trying that number until you get it. I spent an hour on it the first time and didn't finish, but all that practice made something click in my mind from the 10-15 string to being able to do a bunch.

Ok maybe it's not silly, I just felt kind of silly for posting about it - I'm really bad at being an AW, I almost never post my accomplishments anywhere.

Nice work!!! The best part is that once they click they usually get better fast if you keep practicing. Plus they are a cool party truck of sorts. Haha.

I suspect it will take me quite a while to be able to string them together. I'm just glad I got a couple of individual ones.
I have been doing crossfit now for about 2 years (1.5?) and I still cannot do good double unders. This week I was able to do two in a row, which was a total accident and only happened twice, but I just cannot string them together!!
