With Miss Casey.
Got home today and she was breathing weird. Short, fast, shallow. Like she had been running or exerting herself, which rarely happens because she's 15 and fat and has arthritis. My aunt (who is a vet) recommended I wait and let her rest a bit to see if it subsided. Couple hours later, got worse and now I'm anxiously sitting in the waiting room.
I need her to be okay.
****Good update!****
The vet called. Her breathing is back to almost normal and she ate eagerly. Meds they gave her for congestive heart failure overnight seem to be helping, but the echocardiogram didn't really indicate she has CHF. They aren't sure what caused the fluid in her chest/lungs, but since the CHF meds are helping they are going to try to lower the dose to see if it will manage it going forward without damaging her kidneys.
As long as nothing happens overnight I should be able to pick her up in the morning.

She was breathing too heavily for them to listen to her heart, so she's in a special cage getting extra oxygen to try to calm it down. Next is X-rays and blood work.
The vet mentioned the possibility of heart failure or cancer and now I'm freaking out.

Pretty much everything is pointing towards congestive heart failure. Prognosis is up in the air. I'll know more once they do an echocardiogram tomorrow.
Was going to leave for NY ComicCon tomorrow morning. Pretty sure either way this goes my vacation is cancelled.
