Must have some vegetable (canned of frozen) and some protein. I have a craving for comfort food but Alex is sick which means I'll never get around to doing anything more complicated than mixing a bunch of crap together and throwing it in the oven.
Brown 3 chicken breasts in deep saute pan. Mix soup, sour cream, wine in deep saute pan with chicken, cook until thick and chicken is cooked through. Add veggie. Service over rice.
I'm not sure if this qualifies because it uses two pans.
Boil 1 pound penne until al dente.
In separate pan, cook 1lb chopped (I use fresh, canned would work too) asapragus, 1lb diced chicken breast, 2 clove crushed garlic in approx 1T evoo. Saute until chicken is cooked through. Add 1 jar alfredo sauce and cooked and drained pasta. Cook over medium high heat until sauce is bubbly. Serve and top with fresh julianned basil leaves and halved cherry tomatoes.
Sounds yummy but too much work for sick baby night I'll keep it though!
Sausage sliced into coins, can of beans or two, cream of crap, plus pasta, plus cajun or taco seasonings, any other veggies (onion/peppers/squash), plus cheese. YUM.
Chicken + rice + broccoli + cheese + cream of crap. Rice and broccoli can be steam in bag type and a rotisserie chicken from store makes it easy.

For real though. Now I really want cream cheese chicken. Best cream of crap recipe ever. My sister puts it on Uncle Bens ready rice (microwave 1 minute yo!) and that's also delicious.
Two pans, but this is just some random stuff my mom used to make, and I loved as a kid (and still do, tbh). Pretty easy, but can take some time with the simmering and mashed potatoes.
Brown 2ish lbs ground beef, drain off the fat. Add a can of cream of mushroom soup, and 1/4 to 1/2 of the can of water. Add frozen veggies of choice (I like corn and green beans), and seasoning (garlic, onion, salt/pepper, etc.). Simmer until thick. Serve over mashed potatoes.

This, but over egg noodles, and I usually use peas. I might have to make this soon, actually...
Layer chicken breasts in a pan, then cover with swiss cheese (or American whatever you want) I then put cut up or frozen broccoli in it and then add cream of chicken or cream of mushroom or cream of brocc soup. Put in oven at 350 for I don't know.. awhile. maybe 45m
while its cooking make stove top stuffing. Take out of over put stuffing over the dish spread out. Then cook another 15m.
so good, so easy. you can make it in the crock pot too and just throw the crock pot stuff in baking dish throw cheese then stove top on top and bake 15m
I made this the other night, but I used 2 cups uncooked instant brown rice and added about a cup of chicken broth, and put raw chicken strips on top instead of precooking chicken. It took longer to cook, but hands on time was 10 minutes.

My mom would bring white rice and water to the boil and then mix in a can of cream of anything and seasonings (thyme I'm guessing) and pour it over chicken breasts. Cover and bake at 350 for 45 to an hour. Remove the cover and bake an additional 10 minutes with either crushed ritz, shredded cheese, or (my favorite) French's onions sprinkled on top. Serve with green veggie on the side. I'm sure you could use instant rice and save the boil step.

Or do this and put in a 9X13 pan, top with tater tots and throw into the oven. Classic tater tot hotdish.

This one isn't CoC, but it's stupid easy and so yummy.
1lb ground beef 1 box of medium shell pasta 1 jar spaghetti sauce--cheap Ragu or Prego is fine 1 block extra sharp cheddar cheese--not pre-shredded; it doesn't melt well in this
Boil noodles Brown hamburger Add drained noodles and sauce to hamburger Cube or shred cheese and add to pan Stir until it gets past the cheese stringy stage and melts into sauce
My dad used to make it for us, and now DH and DD will devour it. It's like Hamburger Helper if it actually tasted good.
I like chicken and rice with cream of crap and broccoli and cheese.
Recipe?
I don't really use a recipe. I cook an appropriate amount of rice for the number of people, cook some chicken breasts (whichever your preferred method is for shredding), and toss in a can of cream of mushroom or cream of whatever, frozen broccoli and top with shredded cheddar cheese and bake until warmed through. Oh, and I season with salt and pepper as needed. If I'm feeling really classy, I serve it with crescent rolls from a can.

Oh, and if we have leftover steak I cut it up and basically do the exact same recipe (minus the chicken, obviously) and add a little Worcestershire sauce. I usually sub out the broccoli for green beans for that one, I'm not really sure why.
2-4 boneless skinless chicken breasts cubed 1 bag egg noodles (or ziti or spiral noodles) 1 big can of cream of chicken soup (or a smaller can and a little extra milk) Favorite frozen veggies (or can) Shredded cheddar cheese Crushed potato chips
Basically mix together everything except the crushed crackers in a casserole dish. Crush the chips and sprinkle across the top. Cover with foil.
Bake at 400 for 30 minutes covered. Remove foil. Bake another 20 minutes and check the chicken. If the chicken is done then dinner is ready.
I always add salt, pepper, etc to taste - so I didn't include that in the "recipe"
And follow directions on can of soup for liquid ratios. I use extra milk instead of extra water for the sake of creamier "casserole"
My favorite comfort food growing up...Rice casserole. 2c cooked rice 1 lb cooked hamburger One can cream of mushroom One can beef vegetable soup My my adds mushrooms and frozen mixed veggies, I do not. I do some steamed broccoli on the side. Mix all of the above into a 9×13, top with cheddar cheese and bake at 350 for 20 minutes or until cheese is deliciously melted.
