Those are pretty country, but I think you could "modern" them up by painting them a fun color and leaving the table wooden. (It would be a crying shame to paint that table)
The flair at the ends of the crest rails along with the lathework not only on the legs but on some of the back and arm spindles is just too much. I don't even think paint could hide the country. <--ETA: I'm referring the the first set here. WRT the third image you posted, there is nothing updated about it. No. Just.Say.No. It's terrible. This is just my opinion, but I'm sharing it because I can.
I think either set would look better with a more contemporary table; I wouldn't even go modern, just plain contemporary. The 2nd and 3rd pics remind me of the 2nd option chairs you posted (the one you're unsure of because of coloring).
IDK what your budget is, but if getting a set is a must due to price constraints, maybe you can diy a leg swap on the table to update it a bit.

I prefer the second table and chairs. I don't think either set could look modern. But you could get that east coast Martha Stewart country look for sure. If you painted/stained the set.
munkii, I think the chairs below are very similar to the first ones. What do you think of the mix of traditional chairs and modern table?
That second pic was my inspiration pic for years. Love it. We found an old farmhouse table and Windsor-style chairs on CL and I did the chairs black like the pic. I absolutely love it. My chairs are all smooth lines though and I think it's what saves them from looking country.

Care to share a pic? It's such a timeless look.
How tall are the backs on your chairs? The regular 30 inches or extra-height?

I'm not home now, but will measure and attempt to PIP when I get home.
I think the key is the rest of your decor. If you have non-county decor and your room doesn't look country right now then a timeless farm table and Windsor chairs won't make it country.

Ha! I actually have these Ikea chairs from your second link. They're about 15 years old and falling apart. I only have three left.
So then I bought white Thonet chairs from Crate and Barrel but they aren't comfortable AT ALL and they're lightweight. They just don't feel nice and substantial. They are pretty though! Our current generic 1980's oak pedestal table doesn't do anything for them.
They are country, but I like them. I like a little mix - I'm not into it when a home looks like it could be a MCM museum. Things feel warmer to me when it's collected and lived in together.
