Volunteering at a Renn Faire tomorrow and Sunday. Hosting a bbq for the volunteers Saturday night. If I can get the car packed and my stuff prepped for the volunteering and food bought for the bbq early enough, going to the ballet tonight.
Feeling sad that I'm missing Canadian Thanksgiving, yet again. (I'm even too busy to cook up a turkey... *sniff*)
I am totally planning on sleeping in tomorrow. Until like 9 AM. Hahaha.
Probably try to organize the basement. It is for the most part, it just needs to be put somewhere to make space. Everything is in plastic tubs, I just need to put it somewhere other than the middle of a barely used room.
We're supposed to go to Ohio and go to a Renaissance Festival and stay in a cute, historic hotel, but DH has a nasty man-cold. I can tell he feels like crap, but he's being a little ridiculous. At this point I doubt we'd be able to cancel the hotel reservation, so I REALLY hope he doesn't cancel on us!
I hope you have a great time and it's not stressful Susie !
We are kicking around the idea of going to Six Flags. I might be too old for that shit. Especially since Mr. P isn't fond of scary rides and roller coasters, LOL.

If it will be decorated for Halloween, do it!
DH doesn't love rollercoasters, but we do love Cedar Point and Busch Gardens in October when they're all decorated for Halloween!

Nothing planned right now and hoping to keep it low key. Have a lot of things to do around the house - mostly cleaning and organizing that I am hoping to tackle. We also need to clean out our camper and winterize it before it goes into storage.
Tonight I'll go to yoga after work and DH will make dinner (yay!).
Tomorrow we will go to Cleveland, spend time with friends, and we have tickets to see Josh Groban. I am so excited! We'll spend the night and drive home on Sunday, maybe hit up a winery or two on the way.
DH is away all day tomorrow. I'm hitting the farmer's market, Target, and a kids birthday party with DD Sunday is open. DH is going to do something with DD while I do some stuff in the morning
I'm not sure. Our friends said they will be around if we want to get together, but we don't have solid plans.
There's a family party (FIL's side) on Sunday but I don't know if MH will feel up to attending. We didn't RSVP in the first place and I'm sure they're not expecting us to attend.
I don't know if MH will want to start cleaning out FIL's apartment or if he needs a few more days to mellow out before we tackle that project. I need to start researching charities or services that will come and collect the furniture. We definitely don't want to keep any of that, and the bedroom set is probably the only salvageable furniture anyway. The entryway stairs are a complete beast (narrow, winding, low ceiling) so I absolutely think we need professionals to do this for us. We can easily throw the papers, photos, and clothes into bags and then sort them out at home later.
I'm also sending out a ton of emails to animal rescue groups, because there's just no way we can keep FIL's cat. She needs a home where she will be the only pet, and where the people won't touch her too much ... so no kids, nobody who wants a cuddly lap cat to pet all the time, etc. I'm Googling for rescue groups that place pets with senior citizens but I'm not finding too much. We want to do right by FIL and find her a nice forever home, rather than bring her to a shelter and have her sit in a cage all the time, but I think this is going to be a really tall order
Michigan football game - go blue! Apple orchards and cider donuts - love! Eating at zingermans - awesome! Checking out our old haunts - aww! Hanging out with family - yay! Seeing how the other half lives (staying with his friend that has 5 kids for one night) - interesting!

Hallelujah! He just texted me, "I think I am well enough to go."

Enjoy Ann Arbor, and I love your commentary on each item! Lol.

FIL Pom had a kitty and we ended up asking the caregivers we were working with to put up messages in the local area on FB (we weren't local) and found someone to take his kitty that way. We paid to have the cat neutered and for his shots to make it more tempting for someone to adopt. I feel your pain. We still think about "Cat" (FIL named him) and hope he has a good life. Everything about these kinds of situations sucks. (hugs)

My cousin is coming to stay with us for the weekend. It should be fun – no plans for tonight, but tomorrow we are going biking in Sequoia national Park. We might go to a college football game tomorrow night, and then to the Packers bar to watch the game on Sunday. Not too sure when he's leaving, but I know we has to be down south Monday morning

I didn't want to "like" this, but thank you for your advice and commiseration. I'm sorry that you are also in this same boat.

Have you tried contacting Meals on Wheels or your local senior center?
