I don't understand this dripping wet thing. You ring the washcloth out. Let it hang dry. I don't even use the same washcloth and I don't come back to a puddle of water under it.
And tacosforlife washcloths are not that big. I do 2 loads of towels/bedding a week for 3 people. Maybe that is a lot, but I do about 7-8 loads a week.
The only place to hang a washcloth in my bathroom is behind the open door, so it would never dry. Towels don't even dry there because of lack of air circulation. We hang them on a drying rack in the bedroom. And at $3/load, I am really trying to avoid doing 7-8 loads of laundry a week! I'd prefer not to spend $100/month doing laundry! But then, I've already admitted to sleeping on my sheets longer than I should because changing them is so hard with our heavy mattress.
I'm gross. I own it. I don't care. I'm too lazy to give a shit, I'm too cheap to do my laundry more, and I don't get sick excessively. Meh.
Lol. But do you work out? Hell, do you go to work? Because the air is dirty as hell. You could walk down enough city streets and be grimy. There is nothing else in the world I'd wash solely with my hand rather a rag and be all, "Cool, this is clean now." Not a dish, not a table, not a car, not a toy, everything gets cleaned with a rag, but I'm supposed to think my little child-sized textureless hand is scrubbing my body clean? I barely trust my hand to get my other hand clean!
I had such a revelation of this the other day when I noticed the layer of gunk on my window fan when I took it out the window and the layer of gunk on the window ledge from the window being open all summer. I will be more diligent about cleaning that area from now on! The air is nasty lol (wilted)
But if you take a screen, soap, water, and use your hand...the dirt comes off.

As heck! We all know about pollution, yes? People are out here pressure washing houses, streets, cleaning cars and mailboxes, but your outside body is a delicate dirt-repelling flower ? I can go put a bowl on my outside table right now and in an hour, you couldn't pay me to eat out of it without scrubbing it first. Like I said, white washcloth, hot water, soap, scrub, and bump the thread. Tell me what I know.
Also, hang the washcloth on the side of the bathtub of you don't have a towel rack, my God, people, that is not a real dilemma.

But if you go back and scrub it with a washcloth, more dirt comes off. I can't with you guys lol. Am I being punked?

But not as well as it does if I use a rag to scrub!
Like I said previously, maybe my body is just nasty and sweats more than others, but I've had times where I didn't use a washcloth for a few days (traveling, too lazy to do laundry, etc) and when I go back to using a washcloth there is definitely a layer of dirt/skin cells that my hands missed and are visible on the washcloth and draining down the tub.
My feet also need extra exfoliation through a pedicure and a pedicure brush every once in awhile. Using a washcloth to exfoliate my body is no different in my mind.

I don't use washclothes but my kids do. And I have to say, even with as dirty as they are, the white washclothes are not black when I'm done washing them. The water and bubbles and all of that takes most of it off, as does the spray of the shower. The washclothes have rarely if ever had visible dirt at the end of the shower. Its really IME just a vehicle for applying the soap.
No, but two plus the hand towel basically is. At least if you want them to dry and not have to pay another $1.50! Adding 14 washcloths would definitely require extra time.
But I pulled dirty jeans out of the hamper today because I didn't feel like wearing a skirt, my jeans were dirty, and I only have one pair of jeans.
I believe I admitted long ago that I'm terrible at being an adult. LOL.

Who is saying that?

I feel like this is clearly obvious logic that is not being comprehended and it's very frustrating lol!

People were saying they see dirt on the washclothes when they are done that the hand would miss. I don't see any visible dirt.
eta since you edited: I don't deny that a washcloth likely gets more than a hand. I just don't think it is as extreme as some are making it lol.
I'm personally fine with the amount of dirt I get without a washcloth. Some are not ok with that and thats fine too. I just don't think its AS big of a difference as some are implying.
I feel like we need another spin off thread...how often do you clean your shower. If soap and water is good enough for your body is it good enough for your shower?
You don't want to know.
::sits in the can't adult and apparently stinky corner::
As for the "see the dirt" the only time I've actually seen any dirt on the washcloth (when I use one), is when I'm super filthy from working outside or something. Regular, every day there's nothing.

Agreed.
Am I dirtier than the new-washcloth-every-day folks? Sure.
Am I disgusting and rolling around in filth? Only occasionally.

Because they use washcloths!!
Sorry, let me get a washcloth, I've got to wipe up this brain matter from where my head exploded lol.
huh? they said I would see it on the damn wash cloth. I'm saying I don't see it. I don't see any visible dirt on the washcloth or in the tub from washcloth use that apparently I should see since a washcloth removes all of this extra, extremely visible dirt.
I am not a moron. Its not lack of logic on my part. I'm just disagreeing with the idea that if I use my hand, and then a white washcloth, I will be able to see tons of dirt.

We should talk about lotion again, too.
Lol.
While we are at it we can discuss teeth brushing too. I was informed that some people only brush once a day....at night. Please, please tell me you don't participate in such craziness.
I brush once a day, in the morning. I know I should brush twice a day, but meh. I'll do it if I've eaten a lot of garlic or something.
Brushing once a day at night gives me the heebie jeebies. What about morning breath?

My husband only brushes in the morning. Drives me NUTS. NO. UNACCEPTABLE. I keep kindly reminding him that he might get laid more if he'd brush his teeth at night, too.

If you're only gonna brush once a day it should be in the morning so no one has to smell your dragon breath. But you should be brushing twice.

First, let's be clear that I'm honestly joking. I promise there isn't any brain matter on my arm right now . I don't think you're a moron and truly I don't care how anyone washes. I take two baths a day nearly every day and have more bath products than any one woman should, so I'm covered, which is all I care about lol! My own child is out in the world using one washcloth a week and I can't be bothered to do more than tell him he repulses me so I'm not truly trying to convert anyone (although I do hope someone takes the test .
But you said your children use washcloths, so that's why you don't see a bunch of dirt on the washcloths. If you were using your hand on them for, lets just say a week, and then scrubbed (this part is key!) them with a white washcloth, I don't not think the washcloth would be black; however, I do believe there would be visible dirt on the washcloth. This seems so obvious to me I can't believe people are disputing it, that's all I'm saying (perhaps too aggressively, I'm a very passionate woman ).

that is a small washing machine. We use bath SHEETS and I can wash like 10 of them.
And how dirty are we talking? I wear my jeans multiple times before washing them.
What? You prefer one ply toilet paper? What are we--under rations??? How could I live like that?
I am not an animal!!
Ahem, excuse me, what I mean to say is, I prefer two ply.
Lol! I buy 2ply cause my hubby would disown me but I really like the hard one ply toilet paper that they have in my office bathroom. All that charmin quilted bullshit is annoying...
