She's an October baby and last year I only did dresses for thanksgiving and Christmas. It was just too much when she was tiny with the dress and the tights and the bloomers.
I started putting her in them a lot this spring/summer and found them to be less annoying at that time.

I liked the dresses with the built-in snap crotches. Made it more like a romper, IMO. So, maybe 3-ish months, though we took a break while she learned to walk so she wouldn't trip. It's hot here, and I think dresses are cooler than shorts.

As a spring babies I dressed both girls in dresses all through summer and usually on weekends in winter and fall. I fully admit to loving baby outfits and I am not a throw a onesie on and call it a day type. Lol!
DD is 6 months old and hasn't wore any dresses. I just bought her one for Christmas church, but that's it. I don't plan to put them into the regular clothing rotation until she's fully walking.

So I put her in a soft jersey dress and diaper cover today since my friend bought it for her and we were going to thier house after church. Right before we left church she had a crazy diaper leak and pee got all over it and my skirt too.
So now she's in a plain white onesie and jean shorts since they were the back up outfit in the diaper bag. So we stopped by the house on our way and I grabbed a pair of demon shorts for me to change into.
Now DD and I match in our plain white shirts and jean shorts. Haha, most disappointing mother/daughter matching outfit ever, lol.
I only did for very special occasions as a baby. Really rare though. Then she wore a few when she started sitting around 5/6 months, but quickly had to cut that out once she started crawling at 8 months. She wears them often now. She didn't wear shoes at all until she started walking.
Haven't done any fancy dresses yet but I'm sure we will soon for Christmas photos. I like the jersey onesie-dresses and she's worn those a few times including as her coming home from the hospital dress. Most of the time though with the heat (born in July), she wore bodysuits at home, and we added pants or wore rompers for going out. I doubt she'll wear a lot of real dresses until she's walking, but the onesie dresses are cute and pretty practical.

Not often until they're walking. Newborns look miserable in dresses because they're always riding up around their tiny waists. Then they're a PITA when they're crawling.
I do put them in dresses for special occasions from day one, but not for everyday stuff.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
We mostly did dresses after 6 months. They're actually pretty great. DD wears them with leggings or little bike shorts (old navy "playground" shorts) and, as she outgrows them, they often can be worn like tops/tunics for way longer than you'd expect.
Her first dress was for Easter so she was about 2.5 months. It was too big but she looked adorable. After that no more dresses for a couple of months, really summertime. I'd say she was about 4.5 to 5 months. She worw dresses as much as possible this summer though.
Since day 1 but as a small infant it was less frequent. I never sent her to daycare in dresses when she was an infant. After that, she began wearing them more often.
First, I love dressses and hairbows so she probably wore them from day 1. But we used to do dress up sunday where i would dress the baby in one of her ridiculous party dresses and we would go to brunch. My husband and I would wear jeans. It was the only way to actually have her wear all the dresses she had. Now she wears dresses maybe once every 2 weeks.

We the occasional sweater dress for pictures, but really started with dresses around 18 months because DD likes them. We do put legging/pants under them because DD crashes a lot and it helps keep the skinned knees down.
E wore a dress about once a week from 3-6 months. It was summer and she wasn't quite crawling. We've stopped now but will likely put them back on her when she is walking. I bought an 18mth dress at Osh Kosh last month because it was too adorable to pass up but so impractical right now.
