We bought a new car last night and I'm so dang excited about it. It's my new baby. I've seriously lost sleep this week from trying to figure out what options to get, negotiating prices, then driving it home last night all giddy.
Then I realized I'm nowhere near ready for a real baby. By "losing sleep" over this, that just means I've gotten like 6.5 hours of sleep for the past couple nights, and I'm dying today. The thought of real sleep deprivation terrifies me.
I fear that if we get a dog, I won't love my cats as much and/or they'll be mad at us. I still think Lizzie is holding a grudge from us adopting Sadie.
I also think this about children.
I always put you in the 'have dog' MM'er. What type of dog would you consider?
I was pleasantly surprised with how many options came with the basic LE. We debated about going all out with the XLE and getting leather, but that would have cost about 4K more for some leather, alloys, and a few other options that we don't care much about. I'm mostly excited that I finally have a way to hook up my phone or an ipod to the stereo and have steering wheel controls. The Bluetooth phone and music streaming is pretty nice too.
I don't know how the 2012s compare to older models, but my 1998 Camry was an AWESOME car. I loved it dearly! It still ran great when I sold it last year.
My fourth semester of grad school starts today and this is only my 5th and 6th class. I have a looonng way to go until I get all 18 of them done. I would love another baby now, but I really want to finish school first. I know I should wait because grad school is hard enough with a full time job and 1 kid, but I am bummed my kids will now be 5 years apart

H wants a big dog.
I want a Beagle. We have a friend with a Corgle (Corgi/Beagle) and she is so awsome I want one of those now. H does not want a beagle, at all.
We're probably going to get a rescue, mutt, or a Bernese Mountain Dog. Hugo needs a GBCN brother!

My little sister and I are 5 years apart. When we were little we played together constantly. Now I'm a handy resource for her as she finishes up college. We're really really close, if that's what you're worried about.
I am questioning my desire to return a box of seemingly spoiled milk to the store. It's the second one like this I have bought from the same place. On the one hand, it's a super small store I go to all the time and I don't want to be seen as a high-maintenace customer. On the other hand, maybe it's not "off" and milk is just supposed to be super chunky when it's UHT and stored on a shelf in summer? So maybe the store owners will just laugh at me and educate me? This is the kind of crap I hate about living abroad. Simultaneously being afraid of pissing off French people and being afraid of being mocked for my ignorance.
We have UHT milk that gets stored on shelves in the heat. It's not supposed to be chunky. Return it.
AW: It's my birthday I just had my favorite coffee and bought myself cheapo bracelets that I happened to see, and that is adding up to a pretty nice day.
(1) A friend of mine from high school who I've barely seen since high school got a pig. I was super excited about the pig, and brought Bliss to see it with me. And then we went to the mall together; and
(2) jillbot was tracking her fertility like CRAZY on a colorful planner with lots of colored tabs. EC was not specifically part of my dream though.
Our new counter tops are going in as I type. Here are a few pics. We're doing the backsplash ourselves in a few weeks, so just ignore that mess.
They look great! What color are you using for the backsplash?
Well...therein lies our problem. We can't decide. We're going between a cream/ivory, black, or something in the gold/amber family. Maybe something like this?
I'm having an awful morning. My cat was having labored breathing this morning (after getting a clean bill of health at her annual exam on Monday) and so I brought her into the vet and they think she inhaled a small something into her lung, but they aren't really equiped to deal with it. I'm still waiting for results from a radiologist vet to see if I need to take her to another vet better equiped to deal. I just got her home, and I *really* need to go to work, but I don't want to leave her.
To further jack up my morning my garage door remote died on the way to the vet, and for some reason it takes those stupid flat batteries instead of something more standard. Ugh!

My poor puppy's allergies seem to have turned into a colorful sinus infection and she sounds like Darth Vader. DH was calling her Darth puppy in the middle of the night. She goes into the vet this afternoon.
We are spending the weekend with the MIL because GFIL is going into hospice once they get him stable at the hospital. He was diagnosed with Esophageal cancer and is refusing treatment.
I'm counting down the days until we leave for vacation, but I'm also scared my platelets are going to be too low and I'll have to get a transfusion overseas (the insurance nightmare that will be even with waived pre existing travel insurance). My doc thinks I should be fine and keeps assuring me that Scandinavia has good hospitals (main reason I was cleared for the trip was the location)

I submitted a blog post to a collective type blog. They responded with a typo and grammar filled response that made me cringe and have since used my content.
I was asked if I'd like to be a regular contributor and now I am trying to think of a way to politely decline. I've since read about the main girl who runs it and am annoyed at her success, because I don't think she deserves it. Are all bloggers strange and trying to make up for their "self taught" short comings?

I hope not But many do seem to be. Just say you're too busy.
One of my coworkers started the first week of October last year... yet I still hear her telling people all the time that she's "new." That's her excuse anytime she is incapable of doing something she should be able to do by now. We're not talking about a job that requires post-graduate education and years of experience to do competently. Nearly 11 months is not "new" enough to be an excuse anymore.

Some of my feelings at the moment:
I am excited and nervous to start school in about a week and a half.
I am sad that a woman I befriended in my group exercise classes at the gym will be moving away soon.
I am so glad I made an effort to meet new people when I moved here. It's nice to have friends to spend time with and confide in when I am going through a rough time.
