Thanks everyone. We're in the car now on the way to the hospital.
He's doing ok. He's awake and moving, apparently they have to keep reminding him that he's had a stroke. My H was there when they were running through some movement tests and he was doing ok. Some stuff was off, and H said his face kept dropping. The hospital that he's going to has a stroke specialist that will be able to intervene if he has another stroke, which they're worried about for the next 24-48 hours.
H and I got there around 1 this afternoon and he was doing well. H said his faced looked a lot better, he was asking questions and paying attention. I went down to the lobby with my laptop to get some work done and everyone else joined me shortly after because they were taking FIL for another CT scan.
After we got back (around 3) he was asleep, but his heart rate and blood pressure were up and he looked like he was having a hard time breathing. I had to leave to get the kids (yay for rush hour traffic and a 1 hour trip taking 2+) but I guess shortly after I left he stopped breathing. The CT showed that his brain is swelling. He's been for another CT and the swelling is too high, so now he's in for surgery to open up his skull so that the swelling as somewhere to go.
I'm home now with the kids, I've gotten V down to bed and my mom is on her way over. My BIL is flying in from Calgary and I'll be headed back to the hospital soon. Your continued T's and P's would be very much appreciated.
