I'm hosting a cookie swap Saturday and need help with my menu. It's about 10 women, two of which are gluten free. I'm pescatarian and prefer not to cook meat, my friends will know to expect this.
I want to do heavy appetizers as we'll be busy drinking and socializing.
So far, I'm thinking:
deviled eggs (GF) caramalized onion dip (GF) sundried tomato stuffed mushrooms (GF) Jalapeno popper dip roasted shrimp (I'm okay cooking these) veggie platter crackers and bread for dipping, including some GF options
I need at least one more non-dip appetizer to round things out. Any ideas, plus any suggestions in general regarding what I have planned?

I have made these multiple times to rave reviews. To save myself the headache I buy those phyllo cups rather than putz with the turnover. Quick and easy. If you have a trader joes near you they sell cleaned and trimmed leaks.

I have a craving for a deeeeply spicy gingerbread/spice cake type cupcake. Anybody have one?
I'm not a big fan of gingerbread flavor, sorry. Christmas cupcakes, for me, are more about the decoration than the flavor.
I'm going to a Christmas party and would love to impress people with impeccably decorated cupcakes. But I'm terrible with a pastry bag which seems to eliminate most ideas. I may have to settle for fancy sprinkles.

Instead of piping/spreading the frosting on, use an ice cream scoop and plop it on top. Then turn the cupcake, frosted side down, into a bowl with the white/sparkling sugar. You can then press the sugar covered frosting with your hand to smooth it out. Or you can pipe it on and even if it doesn't look that great, it will smooth out when you smush it into the sugar.
Bumping because I finally figured out my menu for Christmas Eve. I am the queen of overthinking things so it took forever. It w be MH and I plus another couple. The guy was a chef for years and is a phenomenal cook so I feel like i have to step up my game.
I need one more appetizer recipe for New Years Eve.
So far, I'm making: Baked Brie topped with a variation on that Cabernet Cranberry and Blueberry Sauce
And I'm buying: Trader Joe's Pastry Pups Trader Joe's Mac and Cheese Bites Mini Spanikopita
I want one more appetizer, plus a dessert.
I'd want to add a vegetable to the rotation (I know the spanakopita is veggie-ish, but also heavy on the starch). Maybe stuffed mushrooms or caprese skewers (not actually veggie, but veggie-ish).
@redheadedbaker - what about bacon wrapped dates? If you want a vegetable dish, mixed pickled vegetables are pretty easy and can be done in advance.
Both of those are on my holiday party menu.
I've also got:
Brandade with crostini Kabocha squash fritters Polenta squares with ricotta and pistachio mint pesto Cheese and homemade quince paste Some kind of tapenade or dip with chips/crackers TBD Brownies Shortbread cookies flavored with something TBD salted caramels
I am still tinkering. Suggestions or comments welcome. I think we'll have about 30ish people.

FI requested jalapeno popper dip. But those bacon-wrapped dates sound delicious, too! I might make those, and leave the mac and cheese bites for another day.
And I'm going to make Ina Garten's salted caramel brownies for dessert.
